Olay 28 Day Skincare Challenge (Results)
If you follow me on Instagram, you probably remember that I decided to participate in #Olay28Day Challenge throughout the month of November. You guys know me, I love skincare, but sometimes too much is too much. To stay sane during this busy season, I had to step away from my extensive beauty routine and boil it down to products that address my skin’s immediate needs – dehydration, puffiness, fine lines, and dull complexion. For 28 days, I replaced my regular skin care products with Olay Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream and Olay Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream, and today I wanted to share my results as well as before & after photos.
DAY 1:
My challenge began on a day when I was feeling unwell and simply didn’t feel like going through my usual mega complicated beauty routine. Instead, I washed my face, took Olay Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream out of the drawer and opened a fresh jar of Olay Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream.
My eyes always give away how I’m feeling, which is why I was happy to see them looking much brighter and more awake after the first application. As you can see, the eye cream is tinted, so it also provides mild color correcting properties, along with other benefits. I am not getting rid of my concealer anytime soon, but I was definitely much happier looking at my image in the mirror.
I also enjoyed the immediate boost of moisture from Micro Sculpting Cream. It’s one of my long-time favorites, and the one I often recommend when my friends ask for budget-friendly options. The formula contains Niacinamide to brighten and help maintain skin’s moisture barrier, Amino-peptide to address the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, Panthenol to soothe, and proven moisturizers Glycerin and Hyaluronic Acid to restore plump, youthful appearance.
DAY 12:
About two weeks through the challenge, I started noticing some first results. My skin looked visibly brighter, it felt sufficiently hydrated, the pores looked smaller, and the puffiness around my eyes was slowly fading. Micro Sculpting Cream was definitely helping with post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, which persisted after a series of hormonal breakouts that I was dealing with a couple weeks prior to the challenge. It’s always nice to watch those pesky acne scars fade away!
Minimizing my beauty routine freed up a lot of time, so I was able to dedicate an extra 30 minutes every day to declutter areas that needed it most, including my pantry, medicine cabinets, and skincare drawer. I tossed a lot of products that simply didn’t work anymore, and those that didn’t perform as well as Micro Sculpting Cream and Ultimate Eye Cream. Why keep them if they don’t work, am I right?
DAY 24:
Just a few days before the challenge ended, I snapped a quick “after” pic, because I wanted to compare it with my day one photo. I took this selfie on Black Friday morning, right after Thanksgiving, so my face was still a little puffy from the holiday feast the night before. However, my skin was looking a lot better than on day one, that’s for sure. Looking back at the improvements over the past 28 days, I can see why so many women around the world choose Olay products. They are effective, affordable, and often outperform their much more expensive department store counterparts. For instance, in clinical trials Micro Sculpting Cream was proven to be more effective than a $400 high end moisturizer!
Day 1: Dull complexion, enlarged pores, a couple breakouts, fine lines more pronounced. // Day 24: The skin looks brighter, smoother, more even-toned.
Day 28: Skin is radiant and glowing. Olay 28 Day Challenge made me feel pretty even without makeup!
BOTTOM LINE:
In the end, I am glad that I took the challenge. My skin is looking great, and I feel good about using products that are effective and affordable. I can definitely recommend both Olay Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream and Olay Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream to those of you who have the same skin type as I: combination, dehydrated, with slightly enlarged pores, puffy eyelids, fine lines, and post-acne hyperpigmentation.
I encourage you to also take the 28 Day Challenge, so you can see for yourself that achieving great skin doesn’t have to be a million-step process, nor does it require super expensive products. Have you tried Olay skincare products before? Would you take the Olay 28 Day Challenge? Let me know in the comments below!
I loved this moisturizer for over a decade. But I am surprised that Olay is recommending it for women as young as you are. That said, your skin looks absolutely perfect!
You are so sweet, Allison, thank you! Also, what age group would you say this moisturizer is best suited for, in your opinion? I feel like it was appropriate for me (I am 33), but my mom loves it, too, and she is in her 50s.
Perhaps they’ve changed the product since I used it (I used it exclusively for more than a decade from the time it was first launched till I started blogging), and it was a heavy cream. It seemed better suited for middle-aged women like me and your mom, but maybe it’s different now and would suit any woman with dry skin.
What a great before & after. I think affordable skincare is underrated, which is such a shame.
Drugstore skincare has come a long way! They have some pretty sophisticated formulas on the market now.
Wow!! You can not deny how much brighter your skin looks.
Thank you!
I haven’t tried Olay in a long time (it made my face itchy) but my Mom wore it for decades. You can definitely see your skin did great with it!
My skin loved the simplified routine 🙂
There is a noticeable difference. I like how bright your skin looks with it.
The lighting plays a huge role, since it was a sunny day when I took the ‘after’ shot, but there are undeniable improvements in texture, pore size, and overall brightness for sure.
I love these types of posts that have before and after!!!
Happy to share my thoughts!
I love seeing before and afters on skin challenges! <3 Great review!
Happy to share!
You have flawless skin. Olay is a popular brand back in the day. I vividly remember my grandma using this every night
My mom loves it too, and she’s used their products for years.
Your skin looks amazing!
Thank you!
I’m glad you had such good results! I haven’t tried these specific Olay products but unfortunately the ones I did try didn’t seem to work for me.
Skincare can be so YMMV sometimes 🙂
You are so pretty and your skin looks beautiful.. Even I love Olay products.. Pretty effective!
Thank you!
Wow, great results! May I ask how much these products retail for?
The moisturizer is $28.99 and the eye cream is $29.99. You can get $40 off by using the link in the post above!
Your skin looks amazing! I tried using the regeneration cream before. I should reconsider.
Thank you!
Your skin looks SO good at the end of the challenge! I need to check that eye cream out!
Good lighting plays a huge part in that I’m sure, but I definitely see actual results!
I definitely see the results, but the lighting difference might play a small part in that too. I know it’s really hard to recreate the exact same lighting though.
The lighting is definitely different (I didn’t learn how to control the weather yet haha!), but at least you can tell that my pores are smaller and some of the breakouts are gone, too 🙂
Wow. This looks like something I need to try! Fantastic results!
Thank you!
Everyone really seems to love this. I was doing a two week trial of a one step product, and it totally has me spoiled! The extra time, like you said…I can slip in one more Hallmark movie before bed!
That extra time really adds up, doesn’t it?
Your skin looks fabulous! There is definitely something to be said for affordability, accessibility, and simplicity!
Drugstore skincare has come a long way!
