It’s no secret that I love Milani, which is without a doubt one of my top 5 drugstore beauty brands. So when I received an email newsletter that they just released a brand new Dolci Bronze Limited Edition Collection, I felt compelled to grab it, since I don’t own any of those shades.
The collection includes five products:
- Bronzer XL in 04 Dolci – reviewed HERE [Neutral Brown with Satin Matte finish & Light Peach Beige with Pearl finish]
- Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eye Shadow in 31 Dolci [Bronzed Rose Gold with Pearl finish]
- Brilliant Shine Lip Gloss in 15 Dolci [Rose Gold with Gold Pearl shimmer]
- Color Statement Lipstick in 47 Dolci [Bronzed Rose Gold with Pearl finish]
- Color Statement Nail Lacquer in 55 Dolci – reviewed HERE [Bronzed Gold with Silver Shimmer]
Note: I will post separate reviews for all of these products in the upcoming couple of weeks, and then edit this post with links later. Stay tuned!
So far my favorite product is surprisingly the bronzer. My skin is quite light, and many bronzers and contouring products tend to look muddy on it, but this one strikes the perfect balance for us fair-skinned girls! The formula is just a tad powdery, but it sits well over foundation, so I never even needed touchups throughout the day. I also like that it’s matte, as there just aren’t that many great matte drugstore bronzers out there. Overall, I’m quite pleased with the pigmentation, wear time, and the overall feel of this duo!
Another product that is a very close second – the nail polish. It’s bulletproof, you guys! I’ve been wearing it for over a week now, and there’s not a single chip yet! I’m not super hard on my nails, but I do a fair amount of housework, so by now most of my polishes, with the exception of select few, would have chipped and needed to be repainted. Not this one! I’ll leave the rest for my dedicated review, but if you spot the Dolci Bronze display at your local CVS – don’t hesitate to grab this one, it’s a winner!
I’m still in the kinda-sorta testing phase for the eye shadow, lipstick, and lip gloss, but so far they haven’t disappointed me yet. All three are very pigmented, and are definitely on the bold side of spectrum, so if you prefer subtle makeup – these probably aren’t the droids you’re looking for.
Swatch reference: My skin tone is between MAC NC15 and NW15 with yellowish hue and neutral undertones. Sometimes I can wear NW20 in the Summer. I thought this would be useful to know, since all screens show colors differently, and I also don’t have a studio setup with consistent lighting. Hope that helps!
I added some quick swatches so you could see the products side by side [sans the polish], and also applied everything on my face. At once. Normally I would probably wear only one color accent plus the bronzer duo, but at least this way you can selectively section my face and check out the product you’re interested in on a live person. I think it’s really helpful when other bloggers do that, so I started doing it as well. By the way, I normally apply bronzer very lightly so it’s not really visible in this selfie. I’ll make sure to make it a tad bolder for my separate product review.
At this time it sounds like this collection will be Limited Edition, but I’m not entirely sure. The email said it is, but only the lipstick has that signature LE packaging with a clear cap. Whether it’s LE or not, I think all five products are definitely on par with my other Milani favorites, and you should check them out.
WHERE TO BUY: The collection is available online at MilaniCosmetics.com, and on displays at select drugstores. I found one at CVS, not sure if others have it as well.
Have you spotted Dolci Bronze display at your local CVS? If you bought just one product from this collection, what would it be? What are some of your favorite Milani products? Let me know in the comments below!
