You know, I feel like my lipstick color choices really reflect the seasons: the brighter the sun – the brighter the lippies! I decided to upgrade my lippie wardrobe for the season and picked up two new Milani Color Statement Lipsticks to add to my stash: 03 Orange-Gina and 12 Flamingo Rose.

I might be delusional about this, but I think it looks quite nice on me, as long as it leans a little coral. Orange-Gina is that kind of orange, and it also contains loads of shimmer, making it a bright and fun Summer hue.

I also like to wear this shade on my nails, I feel like it’s one of those classic warm weather colors that are perfectly appropriate for Spring/Summer.

While it’s undeniably an eye-catching color, wearing Flamingo Rose doesn’t translate to “trying too hard”, so it looks great on people of all ages. I bet my Mom and I, and my 17 year-old niece would all make it appear equally age-appropriate.

Sometimes I can wear NW20 in the Summer. I thought this would be useful to know, since all screens show colors differently, and I also don’t have a studio setup with consistent lighting. Hope that helps!

Flamingo Rose is everything I already adore about Milani’s creme finish lipsticks, so it has that same great buttery smooth formula, and a fairly decent lasting time. Orange-Gina was an unexpected surprise, since I don’t usually go for shimmery/frosty finishes. It didn’t look like I just traveled into the future from the 70s, and the shimmery particles didn’t feel as gritty as I thought they would be. The staying time was about 5 hours with no touchups, and I’m pretty delighted about that!

WHERE TO BUY: $5.99 for 0.14 oz. Available at Milani, Drugstore.com, Walgreens, local drugstores.
