Buying or not buying this box was not much of a question, I am a big fan of yogurt beauty products, and sampled a lot of mainstream Western ones. Now it’s time I tried some Korean goodies with this miracle ingredient! I had high expectations for Memebox Yogurt Cosmetics box, so let’s see if it lived up to them.
HOW IT WORKS
Memebox Global is not a typical subscription service. They periodically curate boxes filled with assorted beauty products popular among Koreans, and those Limited Edition bundles are sold on first come first serve basis. Prices vary depending on the type of the box. Memebox ships internationally, so make sure to check on their website and see if they ship in your country – chances are they do. All themed boxes tend to sell out fast, so by the time you read this review this particular box might not be available for sale anymore.

Happy Bath Facial Yogurt Cleansing Foam – We received a few Happy Bath products in the past, and their body washes were my favorite. There were four different varieties sent out – Gentle, Moist, Silky, and Firm. I received Moist, which features extracts of apple, banana, and apricot seed oil to replenish and moisturize the skin.
To me this looks like “yet another cleanser”, however based on my previous experience with the brand, I’m sure it will be very pleasant to use. I have combination skin, so I will be passing it on to my sister, I hope she enjoys it.
Pure Smile Yogurt Mask Mixed Fruits – If you’ve been reading this blog long enough, you know I love sheet masks, and I go through them almost as fast as I get them. Now, Pure Smile is not exactly a premium brand or anything, and most of their sheet masks are your regular dollar store goods. These particular ones are from their more expensive range, and retail for about two bucks a piece.
I tried one of these and it felt very relaxing, fresh, and nourishing on the skin. I also liked the fruity fragrance way better than their regular floral-scented masks. I don’t think it’s a whole lot more effective than the dollar masks, but the fragrance alone is so worth it!
ettang Modeling Take-out Cup Pack – This crazy-looking cup-o-powder is actually a facial mask. You fill it halfway with water and quickly apply to your face. It’s sort of like one of those peel-off masks, except it dries to a rubbery finish.
Memebox card says it’s good for only one use, but unless your face is the size of 3 regular faces, I think the contents can easily be stretched for several applications.
Purederm Skin Softening Yogurt Mask – I haven’t touched a creamy-type mask ever since I accumulated a large supply of sheets, so it’s really been a while. Purederm brand is what I call a “just okay”, it’s like lower end drugstore quality stuff, which by the way is still better quality than non-Korean low end products.
I received the Strawberry mask, which supposedly brightens and softens the skin. I’ve been totally spoiled by some other amazing products that I already have, so I am not tempted to try it, but it will make a great stocking stuffer.
Rappol Calming Cream – At first I thought this was a cleanser, because of the size: the bottle is huge! Can you imagine a 5.29 oz. facial cram? Me neither. Memebox card says that it’s perfect for sensitive and allergy-prone skin, and helps improve cell turnover.
I swatched it briefly on the back of my hand and that made it so incredibly soft! The formula probably includes camphor, because it has that distinctive minty-piney smell, which can be a bit too strong for some people. However, that scent doesn’t linger for long, maybe 5-10 minutes tops. I don’t know about sensitive skin, because mine isn’t, but my combination skin responded really well to this moisturizer. I think you’ll probably see lots of bloggers raving about it.
Holika Holika I Want Chu Lip Balm Strawberry Smoothie – This lip balm duo comes in two flavors: strawberry and yogurt, and it’s actually designed to use with your special someone.
Apply the strawberry lip balm on your lips, and give the yogurt one to your significant other, so when you two kiss, you will both taste a sweet strawberry smoothie. That’s a really cute idea, and something fun to play with on Valentine’s Day 🙂
The yogurt box contained some great products, but most of them are not something I would consider a must-have. While everything seemed nice, the goodies were all lacking that wow factor that we got from things like Bounce Cheese Cream or 7 Seconds Morning Sheets from previous boxes. Still, I will definitely use the remaining sheet mask, the modeling pack, and the calming cream, although the bottle is so huge I would have to use it on my body rather than my face instead if I want to realistically use it up before the expiration date kicks in. So yeah, overall, this box left a good impression, but it’s not a box I would hype up. It was just good. And “good” is good enough. Did you like the contents? If you do, and want to get your hands on one of these, it’s still available for purchase as part of this bundle.
