HOW IT WORKS
Memebox Global is not a typical subscription service. They periodically curate boxes filled with assorted beauty products popular among Koreans, and those Limited Edition bundles are sold on first come first serve basis. A.H.C. Whitening Special Gen Skin Care Kit – This kit contains a 3-step skin care routine packaged in convenient travel-sized bottles and tubes. It includes a clarifying toner, a soothing serum, and a moisturizing, which should be applied to clean skin in that order.

How to use: Apply the solution to clean skin with cotton pad, followed by a serum, and then the cream. Pat in for full absorbance. Suitable for all skin types.

According to my product card, this trio features a blend of antioxidants and skin-softening ingredients like green tea, lavender, sage, rose hip oil, that help moisturize and brighten the skin. I’m still not sure if I will use them at home or wait until I have to pack for a trip.

Dr. MJ Jasmine Sleeping Water Mask – For a while I kept getting only collagen sleeping packs, so it’s nice that I finally have a wider selection. This gel-type mask is supposed to help with hydration and cell turnover, as well as soften the skin overnight.

How to use: Apply to skin in the PM at the end of your skincare routine. Suitable for all skin types.

I caved and used it once already, even though I have a bunch of other sleeping masks open, and I wasn’t totally wowed, to be honest. It’s not as nourishing as I had hoped, so I’m going to save it for Summer. It sure smells amazing, though! 🙂

Pure Smile Potion Hand Pack – Out of three possible varieties sent out, I got the one I would have wanted – Royal Jelly. Honey always seems to do wonders for my skin, and I’m sure my hands would also agree with that statement.

How to use: Apply to clean hands, and take off after 20 minutes. Pat in the remaining essence. Suitable for all skin types.

I didn’t use it yet, but I’m a bit confused. This is a sleepytime box, so does that mean Memebox expects me to sleep with these things on my hands? I feel like it would be counter-productive, and instead of getting fabulous skin and moisturized cuticles, I’d wake up with messy sheets and pruney paws. I bet they would work great before bed, so I can slap on an extra-nourishing hand cream and let it work its miracles overnight. By the way, Pure Smile brand is probably my favorite brand of cheap Korean masks.

Grinif Queen of Rose Water Eye Cream – Fellow beauty bloggers are swooning over this eye cream, and now I have a chance to try it, too. First of all, it smells just like blooming roses, which some people will love and some won’t. I happen to be a fan of rose-scented products, so of course I was happy.

How to use: Apply to eye area AM and PM. Suitable for all skin types.

It has a thick creamy formula, which goes a veeeery long way. I haven’t been using it long enough to notice any results, but it makes my eye area feel hydrated and comfortable.

Grinif Shea Butter Multi Balm – Oh, you know me, I adore my body treats with shea butter, especially in its raw form. This balm conveniently comes in a tin, so I can easily pack it in my makeup bag and carry it around in my bag.

How to use: Apply directly to places that need moisture: skin, hair, face, hands, feet, etc… Suitable for all skin types.

Unlike raw shea butter, this balm is much easier to melt. So far I used it a few times to moisturize my hands, knees, and elbows, and it worked just fine. It also works really well for nails and cuticles, although I definitely prefer it as a skin care product. It has a very neutral scent that doesn’t linger on the skin; perfect for scent-sensitive people like me.

Mizon Olive Cocoa Butter Foot Cream – Formulated to treat dry and cracked feet, this foot cream features olive oil and cacao butter. I’m used to foot creams that contain minty ingredients, but this one is different. It feels like a hand cream or body lotion, and the smell reminds me of those at-home hair color kits.

How to use: Apply to clean feet AM and PM and massage until absorbed. Suitable for all skin types.

This foot cream quickly became one of my bedside staples, because it works quite well overnight. I always wake up with the softest feet!

Glam Up Highly Enriched Ampoule – This is a hair ampoule and I didn’t have a chance to try it yet. Memebox recommends applying it to damp hair, and leaving it on for a while, maybe even overnight [wrapped in a towel of course].

How to use: Apply ampoule over wet or towel-dried hair, then put on hair cap and wrap it with a towel. Suitable for all hair types, especially dry, damaged, and coarse.

I’m not sure if I’m going to use this one as a deep treatment or an overnight treatment, but one thing I know for sure: I’ll be splitting this ampoule in two uses, because looks like my hair will only need about half a bottle to be thoroughly covered.

Rosemine Azulene Calming Gel – This gel looks like something I would buy at a pharmacy aisle in one of those European drugstores. Azulene is normally used right after waxing, because it helps calm down the skin and also creates a barrier so the skin can repair itself without the risk of getting infected.

How to use: Apply directly to irritated skin area that needs calming. Suitable for all skin types.

This gel also contains extracts of chamomile and roses, known for their calming and anti-inflammatory properties. The only area of my body I actually wax these days is the space between my eyebrows and my arms, so I know I’ll definitely get some use out of it, even if it’s not much.

THE VERDICT
I think this was a fantastic box! Eight items total [ten if we count the kit as three separate products], and they all seem great. My favorites so far are Grinif eye cream and shea butter balm, which together retail for more than the cost of this box. If it ever gets restocked, I’ll be buying another one to break up for gifts. What a deal, seriously! I hope Memebox continues to impress me with these curations, although they’ve been awfully quiet lately. Here’s hoping that’s a sign that they got something amazing in the works for us 🙂 [yeah, I’m your typical half-full girl]
