HOW IT WORKS
Memebox Global is not a typical subscription service. They periodically curate boxes filled with assorted beauty products popular among Koreans, and those Limited Edition bundles are sold on first come first serve basis. Prices vary depending on the type of the box. Memebox ships internationally, so make sure to check on their website and see if they ship in your country – chances are they do. All themed boxes tend to sell out fast, so by the time you read this review this particular box might not be available for sale anymore.

Shara Shara Bee Tox Spot Cream – This is a dupe for me from Global #17 box, but I actually don’t mind. I am not the biggest fan of Shara Shara, but I still give everything a try with an open mind, and this was one of the few things by them that I liked.

How to use: Apply directly to troubled spots. Best used at night. Suitable for acne-prone skin.

I am already actively using the first tube, it works well to soothe pimples overnight and drastically deflate them. I think I might even consider it among my current must-haves, because it really works quite well. This natural treatment contains bee venom and tea tree oil, and is best used before the end of November of this year. Natural products just don’t have long shelf life, due to lack of strong chemical preservatives.

DD’ell Moisture Facial Mask 03 Tea Tree – You know me, ladies, I am pretty much obsessed with sheet masks, and use them all the time. I dedicated one of the bottom drawers in my Alex just for them, and soon I’ll have to probably expand into another drawer. It’s not that I hoard them, but I simply bought too many during all these holiday sales on different websites.

How to use: Spread the mask sheet over cleansed and toned skin, and relax for 20 minutes. Take off the mask and pat in the remaining essence. Suitable for all skin types, especially acne-prone.

DD’ell is a brand of professional cosmetics that are often used in SPAs and beauty salons in Korea. This particular mask is soaked in loaded with tea tree oil and extract, orange peel extract, deep ocean saltwater, and soothing allantoin to treat skin imperfections and soothe redness at the same time. It also has a temporary skin brightening effect, which I found quite nice. I heard some people had a reaction when they used this mask [I didn’t], so keep that in mind.

Purederm Tea Tree Pore Freshner –  Remember when I said that in Korea toners are different from what we are used to? Well, this one is basically the same as the toners here in the US. It contains witch hazel, tea tree, sage, lemon, and peppermint extracts and acts like an astringent.

How to use: Soak a cotton pad in the formula and wipe your face with it. Suitable for oily and combination skin.

I grew accustomed to Korean toners and don’t know that I’m ready to go back to typical Western astringents, but this might make a good gift. Or maybe I’ll add it to the bundle of products I’m collecting for future giveaways, But either way, based on my previous experience with Purederm, I always thought their products were really high quality, even though they’re quite inexpensive.

Tosowoong Tea Tree AC-Control Soothing Lotion – According to my product card, this lotion contains 65% of tea tree leaf water and 3% tea tree extract, which is a lot, so it’s a pretty potent treatment for acne and problem skin. They even say it helps firm up skin to smooth out fine lines.

How to use: Apply directly to clean face after toner and essence, and pat in for full absorbance. Suitable for oily and combination skin types.

I still have a lot of other products to go through before I try this one, but I know I like this brand so this lotion is probably pretty effective. I might actually give it a shot next time my skin is acting up, which happens periodically. Have any of you tried this one? What did you think, is it any good?

ProYou Tea Tree Oil – There is nothing unique about this pure tea tree oil, but I would be surprised if we didn’t see something like this in a Tea Tree themed box. This is something that probably everyone should have in their beauty cabinet. One-two drops mixed with any moisturizer or lotion will turn it into treatment for problem skin.

How to use: Apply directly to blemishes with a cotton swab. For all-over application make sure to dilute a few drops in moisturizer or water. Suitable for oily, combination, and acne-prone skin.

I personally recommend unscented products, like CeraVe or one of those plain Nivea balms. You can also make your own luxurious tea tree toner by adding a few drops into a glass of mineral water. It also works well as a refreshing spray mist!

Purederm Tea Tree Make-up Remover Cleansing Towelettes – I just ran out of my makeup removing towelettes and was looking to buy some more, so these came at a perfect time. I actually never tried towelettes with tea tree oil before, so maybe they will serve to not only remove makeup, but also tone and rebalance my skin. I don’t know why I never even thought about that!

How to use: Take out a towelette and softly wipe the face. Suitable for all skin types.

I’ve been using these a first step in my cleansing routine, and they worked quite well. However, they definitely would not remove all makeup and shouldn’t be used as the only cleansing method, so I recommend following up with an oil or foam cleanser, and possibly a brush or a konjac sponge, if you have one.

THE VERDICT
Although I liked the contents, I feel like the price of this box didn’t quite match up to them. It was one of the more expensive boxes, which I believe cost $27 when it came out, not counting the shipping charges. My overall impression is “just okay”, because none of these products were groundbreaking enough, but at the same time there was nothing I disliked either.
