Honey is undeniably one of the most amazing natural treatments, its anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties have been known for generations. Not surprising that beauty companies love making products with this miracle ingredient, and the latest edition of My Honey Box from Memebox is stuffed with them.

HOW IT WORKS
Memebox Global is not a typical subscription service. They periodically curate boxes filled with assorted beauty products popular among Koreans, and those Limited Edition bundles are sold on first come first serve basis. Prices vary depending on the type of the box. Memebox ships internationally, so make sure to check on their website and see if they ship in your country – chances are they do. All themed boxes tend to sell out fast, so by the time you read this review this particular box might not be available for sale anymore.

Mi Click Manuka Honey Treatment – I love the fragrance of manuka honey, it smells different than other types of honey – very sweet and floral, with only a hint of bitterness. I tried products with manuka honey before, and they always had that amazing aroma as well as seemed to be pretty effective.

Thank goodness for the product card, because otherwise I would have no idea what this thing is. Turns out, it’s a hair treatment, kind of like a deep conditioning masque rather than a conditioner. Memebox recommends applying it to damp hair after shampooing and leaving it on for 5-10 minutes, so I did just that. For my below shoulder length hair I used about a third of the tube, and I think it really made my hair shiny, light and soft. It’s still as frizzy as before, though, so I had to follow up with my usual serum, but other than that I was mostly satisfied. To sum up my experience, this is a good treatment, but not game-changing.

From Nature Multi Effect Collagen Honey Mask – On the outside this is an average cotton sheet mask, but the solution it’s soaked in is absolutely fabulous. This is one of very few masks that actually seem to work; it hydrated my skin and gave it that healthy dewy glow.

I wanted to find out more information about the ingredients, and looks like it’s packed with all kinds of herbal extracts and real honey. It’s a thick, sticky substance that my skin drank up like it’s happy hour. You know, it’s rare that I rave this much about dollar masks, but this one is truly exceptional.

EDMONG Honeybee Water Cream – Spring water, propolis, hyaluronic acid, aloe vera… this lightweight gel-like moisturizer is practically loaded with good stuff, and doesn’t contain any of the bad stuff, like artificial dyes, mineral oil, talc, and other nasties.

If I received this moisturizer a few months ago I would probably start using it right away, because this consistency is perfect for warmer weather. However, I live in Michigan, so we actually get to observe all seasons, and I will probably just keep it in my skincare drawer til Spring. Memebox card also says that it can be used as a sleeping pack.

DAYCELL Essential Honey Lift Massage Cream – At first I thought this is a body product, but Memebox card claims this cream is used for facial massage to firm and deliver nutrition into deeper layers of the skin.

Instructions say to gently pat a small amount of the gel into the skin until full absorption, but that’s actually how I apply all of my skincare. Sleeping packs and normally applied as a last step of skincare routine, instead of or over the night cream.

Pure Smile Honey Snail Lip Treatment – Oh come on, Memebox, enough Pure Smile already! I feel like at this point we will eventually sample every single product this company has to offer, and trust me, they have a lot.

I was curious what snail mucus feels like on the lips, so I decided to try it right away. It smelled sort of minty and had a plumping effect on the lips, making them appear smoother and slightly bigger. Unfortunately, it seems like this lip gloss is loaded with mineral oil, and I have a really hard time using lip products with that ingredient, because I have a bad habit of licking my lips all the time. I think I will use it a few more times and toss it. Luckily, it’s one of the cheapest things in the box, so I don’t feel too bad.

MIGABEE Antipollution RE-Peeling – I love peel-off masks, mostly because of the fun-factor of taking off a layer that looks like skin, and also because my hubs thinks it looks super creepy 🙂 But hey, Halloween is right around the corner, right? Now, I actually didn’t try this mask yet, because I still need to finish my Exuviance peel.

The product card describes this peel as a brightening and nourishing skin treatment that also helps unclog pores and remove dead skin cells. Sounds almost like it’s good for everything! I don’t know if I buy any of that, but peel masks definitely remove dead skin cells, so at least I have that to look forward to when I use it.

Enesti Apple & Honey Shea Butter Hand Cream – Honey and apples are perfect together! Add in a bit of brown sugar and a pinch of cinnamon, and we got a delicious dessert 🙂 I’m not at all surprised to see this yummy duo make an appearance in beauty products, and considering how much I use hand creams in Fall/Winter, this tube will disappear in no time. In fact, I just bought one more tube of luxurious hand cream that I plan to review soon.

Memebox card doesn’t give this cream much of a description, but the brand’s website briefly mentions that it contains shea butter and fermented soybeans, which is good enough for me. Shea butter is known for being nourishing and moisturizing, and fermented soybeans have skin brightening effect.

THE VERDICT
I missed the first Honey box, but after seeing what was inside I just had to grab the second edition, and it was literally just as amazing. This box was well-curated, and the products inside were picked very well to cover all the bases; and I will even ignore the fact that we got three facial masks, because they are all supposed to be used differently. I actually think I’ll be happy with everything in this box, except for the lip treatment, which is a good track record for any subscription box 🙂 I would have loved to see a propolis ampoule, but hopefully it’ll eventually show up in one of my other boxes.
