Hey ladies! I am currently traveling, so today I have a very quick post for you. You’ve probably heard of Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks, right? They’re considered by many to be among the brand’s best products. What makes them so great is how easy they are to use – swipe a few times across the lid, smudge a bit and voila – your chic 1-minute smokey eye is done! The only setback is the price – each Caviar Stick retails for $28, which adds up quickly, because once you try one of these, you want to get them in all of the shades.
Luckily, there is a wide array of affordable dupes available, with formulas the rival the original. This Summer I picked up five Memebox I’m Stick Shadow pencils to try, and they didn’t disappoint.
Memebox I’m Stick Shadows come in five shades, but when I checked the website there were only three available at the time. I’m guessing they are a subject to availability, so if you like one of these and it’s out of stock, just wait a week or two for the restock.
Are they comparable to Caviar Sticks in terms of quality? To be honest, I’m not sure. Caviar Sticks seem to vary in formulas, color payoff, texture, and longevity, so even though I tried a couple, they were very different from one another.
Swatch reference: My skin tone is between MAC NC15 and NW15 with yellowish hue and neutral undertones. Sometimes I can wear NW20 in the Summer. I thought this would be useful to know, since all screens show colors differently, and I also don’t have a studio setup with consistent lighting. Hope that helps!
Memebox I’m Stick Shadows had creamy consistency, with a little extra grit in glittery shades. They wore well over primer, but some of them tend to crease after a few hours if they’re applied to bare skin. My favorite shades are champagne shimmer 01 Have A Nice Day and plummy #4 Good Evening, which lasted the longest and looked amazing at the end of the day without any fading.
WHERE TO BUY: $7.50 USD. Available at Memebox.
