As you might have noticed, I haven’t been buying nearly as many Memeboxes as I did in the past, but when I got an email about the release of Memebox Honey Box #beemine, and found a few Memepoints sitting in my account, I decided to give it a shot. Honey has always been one of my favorite ingredients in skin care, because it helps with a multitude of skin problems, from dull skin tone to acne.
HOW IT WORKS: Memebox is not a typical subscription service. They periodically curate boxes filled with assorted beauty products popular among Koreans, and those Limited Edition bundles are sold on first come first serve basis. Prices vary depending on the type of the box. At this time Memebox ships to USA, China and Korea. All themed boxes tend to sell out fast, so by the time you read this review this particular box probably won’t be available for sale anymore. Click here to see available boxes.

Holika Holika Honey Sleeping Pack in Acerola – I still haven’t found my HG sleeping pack, so trying a new one will be fun. This one contains 40% real honey and Vitamin C to brighten the skin, and as good as that sounds, I will have to alternate it with my nighttime retinol treatment – it doesn’t like getting layered over Vit C. I also like the packaging – it comes in a ribbed glass jar that looks like a picturesque pot of honey. So cute!
How to use: Apply a generous amount to the skin in the PM as a last step of your skin care routine, and rinse off in the morning with lukewarm water. Suitable for all skin types.
Holika Holika Be The Natural Honey Oatmeal Body Cleanser – I’ve been on a body wash buying spree lately, so a hoarder in me totally loved seeing this product in the box. It’s practical, and I know it will be used before the expiration date, unlike some of that skin care in my stash. Memebox says this particular body wash is very moisturizing, so it should leave the skin soft after the shower. We’ll see!
Secret Key Honey Bee’s AC Control Soap – Unlike here in the US, in Korea solid soap bars are actually very popular, so cosmetic companies formulate them with some of the gentlest and purest ingredients. This one contains a plethora of nice extracts, like bee venom, tee tree oil, salicylic acid, and castor oil. It replaces the foaming cleanser step in the routine, so I would use it between cleansing balm and micellar water. Memebox also recommends leaving the lather on the skin for 30 seconds to let the formula penetrate into the deeper layers, allowing it to heal breakouts and improve uneven skin tone.
Skinfood Honey Pot Lip Balm – And we got another absolutely adorable little honey jar! I’ve been eyeing these on TesterKorea, so I’m glad i didn’t end up buying it. This little jar comes with a small honey stick that you use as an applicator, and even though the idea of rubbing my lips with a piece of wood seems barbaric, it felt surprisingly smooth and at times better than standard applicators. To my nose, this honey balm doesn’t smell like honey, and instead reminds me of apricot jam. It has a pleasant non-sticky finish that ventures more into the cream/moisturizer territory rather than a traditional lip balm, so it will slide around when you talk or rub your lips together.
Skin79 Honey Moisture Mask Sheet – Throwing in single use mask sheets is a cheap move, but at least I know it’ll get used, unlike some “fillers” I get in other subscription boxes. This particular mask is formulated with honey extract, sweet almond oil, and olive oil, so I will use it when my skin needs a moisture boost.
THE VERDICT: This was one of the less expensive boxes that were recently released, and it did feel a little cheap in person, but it still contained some nice products – enough to impress someone who is new to Korean beauty. While soap, body wash, and a single use sheet mask were a little bit on the “stingy” side, they were still nice and useful extras. Main stars of the box are of course the sleeping pack and the adorable honey pot lip balm, in that lovely gift-worthy packaging. I ended up paying $20, shipping included, and I felt like I got my money’s worth.

I haven’t gotten a Memebox since they changed their method of operating, but this one caught my eye. I especially love the look of the sleeping mask and lip balms, but you’re right that it was pricey for what you got
Yeah, wasn’t a “steal” by any means, but at least I’m not disappointed in what I got, and feel like I got my money’s worth.
I adore Memebox, but like Allison I haven’t purchased a box in sometime. Korean beauty products are so unique and their packaging is adorable.
I’m always impressed at Korean beauty brands’ ability to make the most mundane products like lip balm or moisturizer to look “appetizing”!
Oh wow, I adore that lippie honey pot – SO CUTE!
Isn’t it the cutest little thing ever? It’s sitting on my desk right now and I reach for it several times a day 🙂
The lip balm jar is adorable! I wish they continued to ship to the rest of the world 🙁 I probably have enough Memeproducts for the next couple of years, but I still miss their boxes.
Same here, Renu, I have enough beauty products for the next 2 years or longer that’s for sure. That’s one reason why I haven’t been buying many Memeboxes lately, but this one I had to get 🙂
Honey does wonders in skin care, love how they revolved around that for this box
It was well-curated, indeed 🙂
OMG I thought I read areola, I had to re read again the acerola, haha
LOL, my keyboard thanks you for being sprayed with coffee. NOT! Hahah, nope, that mask smells like honeyed cherries 🙂 – although that sounds pretty naughty, too.
This wasn’t a bargain but the little jars are just so darn cute. I love the honey theme.
Yep, in the end it wasn’t a bargain at all, but I was still pretty happy with what I got, and don’t feel like I got ripped off or anything.
I love that little honey pot jar of lip balm. Adorable.
It’s just the cutest little thing, and so clever!
I would love everything but the soap. (Can’t do bee venom, allergic.) That little pot of lip balm is positively adorable! Why don’t we make things like that, here? I mean, really?
I know, right? I think that’s the next big thing in skin care – we already got the formulas down, now it’s time to revolutionize the packaging and make it more fun. maybe that’ll increase the popularity of skin care alltogether, because so far it seems like most women generally prefer makeup more.
That little lip balm looks adorable! It’s a shame it doesn’t smell/taste like honey, but it’s still cute!
Nope it doesn’t, but it’s still an incredibly pleasant light scent/taste! 🙂 I want to order more of these as gifts.
Ack… this sounds like this is an absolute fun bag – especially the name. I’m really allergic to bees, but love honey products. I think I would have to pass on the soap though… that bee venom would put me in anaphylactic shock. Overall though, I would love to try these.
Bummer about your allergy! I discovered that products with bee venom do wonders for my skin, but honey is just as fantastic for just about any skin concern – from acne to dryness.
Sheet mask has my name all over it 🙂
It sure does, Norah <3 We're like skincare addict twinsies, and love the same things 🙂
This is such a cute selection of goodies!
Right? Korean cosmetic companies always nail it with the packaging.
I haven’t gotten a MEMEbox in a while, but they still suck me in to look at some of the cuteness. That honeypot balm is totes adorbz.
It’s been a while since I’d gotten one, too, but passing on this one felt like a crime 🙂 In the end, it wasn’t the greatest value, but I’m still content with what I got.
