Hair & Body Memeboxes have always been very popular, bit I never bought one before, because I was afraid to get too many body products. Since I now frequent The Body Shop’s sales [all thanks to my Aunt Jody for getting me hooked on their Almond body butter], I now have a nice variety of their signature round jars stacked on my bathroom shelf to suit any mood and weather conditions. Now, this hair-specific Hair Salon Memebox is something I could actually get some use of, especially if it contains some fancy single-use deep treatments, hair masks, and ampoules. Let’s see if it lived up to my expectations!
HOW IT WORKS
Memebox Global is not a typical subscription service. They periodically curate boxes filled with assorted beauty products popular among Koreans, and those Limited Edition bundles are sold on first come first serve basis. Prices vary depending on the type of the box. Memebox ships internationally, so make sure to check on their website and see if they ship in your country – chances are they do. All themed boxes tend to sell out fast, so by the time you read this review this particular box might not be available for sale anymore.

Na. 8 Outbath Treatment – I bought this box after seeing the spoiler for this product, something about it made me think it’s going to be a good one.
How to use: Apply to dry and damaged parts of your hair and leave to soak in overnight, then rinse with shampoo in the morning. Recommended for coarse and frizzy hair.
This hair treatment is scented with yuzu, even though the ingredient list doesn’t show any yuzu oil on the list, so that fragrance must be purely chemical. The noteworthy ingredients include hydrolyzed keratin, which is pretty high on the list, so what I expect this mask to do is reduce the frizz, and make my hair shiny and straight.
The Shampoo Natural Waterless Shampoo Outdoor – I just tried to say the name of this shampoo out loud, and if someone heard me they’d be like “what on Earth is she talking about?” Yeah, the name is pretty weird, but the Korean meaning often gets lost in translation.
How to use: Spread 3-5 pumps throughout the hair until the foam disappears and towel dry. Suitable for all hair types.
Sounds like this shampoo is great for those times when you don’t have access to a shower. It doesn’t replace a proper hair wash, but it gets rid of some of the excess oil and gives the scalp that minty fresh feeling for a few hours. Back in the day before we got married, my now-husband and I used to travel a lot, and sometimes our travel time would be over 24 hours. This shampoo would have been very helpful!
La’dor Perfect Hair Filler x2 – Now we’re talking. I’ve been hoping to find a product like this in a hair-themed box, and Memebox delivered. The product card describes them as highly concentrated ampoules that will make even the most hopelessly damaged hair look amazing by restoring shine and elasticity to the strands.
How to use: Mix the necessary amount of ampoule with water in 1:1 proportion until it turns into a creamy essence, then massage it in your hair and leave on for 20 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water. Suitable for all hair types.
I love the concept of this ampoule, it’s almost like a mini-DIY project that makes you feel like you’re creating a customized beauty product. The mix of active ingredients sounds quite impressive. Here we got amino acids, keratin, collagen, and ceramides, that all come together to revive our winter locks.
Haken Natural Baobab Oil – Really excited about this product! I’ve never tried anything with baobab oil before, so this treatment sounds very exotic. I tried to find more information online, and seems like it was recently repackaged in an hourglass-shaped bottle, so we might be getting a leftover stock in old packaging, which I’m totally okay with.
How to use: Rub a small amount of oil in your hands and run across the length of the hair. Suitable for all hair types.
This treatment smells really good, however I don’t think it’s pure oil; the formula definitely feels silicone-y. I don’t have a problem with that, because I do use ‘cone serums when I need to add instant shine to my hair from time to time, but I definitely wouldn’t slather it on every day.
Solucion 9 Aztec Shampoo Natural Herb 50% – Solucion 9 is known for their natural formulas inspired by the beauty secrets of Ancient Aztecs. This particular blend includes nine natural botanical oils and extracts that work to detoxify, energize, and moisturize the hair from follicles to ends.
How to use: Lather the shampoo between your palms and massage into hair. Leave on for 5 minutes and rinse off with lukewarm water. Suitable for all hair types.
I feel like I want to try this shampoo right away, but at the same time there’s no reason to open it because I still have several half-empty ones sitting in the shower. I’m sure I’ll definitely break and use it at some point, but for now I’m going to stash it away. I also took a look around Solucion 9 website, and found it quite stylish and clearly Western-inspired. You’d rarely see Korean websites with layouts and fonts like that, but they’re very popular in Europe and America.
Ryo Anti-Hair Loss Treatment – This is a repeat from Memebox Global #12, and my Mom already called dibs on it. It’s a rinse-off conditioner that stimulates the hair follicles so they grow thicker and healthier., and makes the scalp feel cool and minty.
How to use: Apply generously over clean wet hair and massage into hair and scalp. Leave for 3 minutes, then rinse off with lukewarm water.
THE VERDICT
This box did not deliver great value that I’m used to getting from my regular Memeboxes. Two products that stand out from the crowd are Solucion 9 Aztec shampoo and La’dor hair ampoules, but everything else seemed “just okay”. I got this box free with points and coupons, and I probably would have been a bit bummed if I paid the full price for it, but that’s just my opinion. I’m sure there are people who absolutely loved this box, but the value just wasn’t there for me this time. Based on this experience, I doubt I’d buy another hair box again in the future.
