Memebox Global #8 Review, Pictures, Unboxing

purchased

I have to confess, I did receive my Memebox #8 a while ago, but simply couldn’t find the time to try anything until very recently. After all, I wouldn’t want you to come to this post and see it full of descriptions like “Here’s a moisturizer, the company says it’s moisturizing, I have no idea if that’s true. Adios!” Some of these products were a hit, some were just okay, but as always, this box was a great value and introduced me to a nice variety of products. Without further ado, here’s my review of Memebox Global #8! [by the way, at the time of this review, there is only Box #13 available for purchase in addition to special edition bundles]

HOW IT WORKS
Memebox Global is not a typical subscription service. They periodically curate boxes filled with assorted beauty products popular among Koreans, and those Limited Edition bundles are sold on first come first serve basis. Prices vary depending on the type of the box. Memebox ships internationally, so make sure to check on their website and see if they ship in your country – chances are they do. All themed boxes tend to sell out fast, so by the time you read this review this particular box might not be available for sale anymore.

Memebox Global #8 – contents
Flower Men Energy Factory Moist Boosting Sheet Mask – same size as Psy’s face!

Hairich Vedacell Hair Program Shampoo
Tonymoly BCDATION SPF30 PA++ in Pink Beige

Heart Face Ultra Pore Care Sleeping Pack

Secret Key Snow White Cream

MAX Clinic Caviar Massage Oil Foam Cleanser

Flower Men Energy Factory Moist Boosting Sheet Mask – This sheet mask contains concentrated hyaluronic acid, so it’s super moisturizing and soothing. And just look at that packaging! The sheet is supposedly the same size as Psy’s face, and the packaging can be easily converted into an actual mask with holes for strings to tie it on the back of your head, so you can have some more fun with it beyond the actual treatment. As far as the effect goes, this is a pretty average mask.

Hairich Vedacell Hair Program Shampoo – The shampoo is free of sulfates, silicones and synthetic dyes; it’s supposed to enhance the health of both the hair and scalp. The fragrance is what I’d call medicinal, it really smells like a mix of herbs and spices. It’s actually very gentle and moisturizing, I didn’t even need to use a conditioner afterward.

Tonymoly BCDATION SPF30 PA++ in Pink Beige – Memebox says that this is a BB and CC cream in one. The color was a pretty good match for me, but a tad bit bit pinker than I would prefer. The coverage is medium to medium-full, and it was fairly easy to blend. I also like when BB and CC creams include SPF, that way I feel that my skin is extra protected 🙂

Heart Face Ultra Pore Care Sleeping Pack – Sleeping packs is another Asian innovation, these are very popular with Korean women, and are as much of a staple as sheet masks and essences. This is basically a lightweight nighttime moisturizer, it felt nice on the skin, but I think I would prefer my other favorites.

Secret Key Snow White Cream – Needless to say that whitening & brightening products are very popular in Asia, which is why I’m not at all surprised that Memebox sent one. After looking at the ingredients, it seems like this moisturizer provides long-term brightening effect [thanks to Niacinamide] and a temporary whitening effect [Titanium Dioxide powder], and it also acts as a makeup base. This cream is not moisturizing, so I had to use a serum underneath.

MAX Clinic Caviar Massage Oil Foam Cleanser – This is a very generous full-size oil-foam cleanser! Memebox claims that its retail value is $73, which I am sure is just a result of inaccurate currency conversion, because if true, that puts it on the same shelf with La Mer cleansers and that just can’t be right… right? This cleanser is made with caviar oil [aka fish oil], so it’s rich in Omega-3s, which are great for the skin. It doesn’t feel sticky or greasy, and looks like a typical foaming gel cleanser, but I really like how it clears every pore on my face. Long story short: it’s a great product!

THE VERDICT
This was a well-rounded box: we got some skincare, some makeup, some hair care , and even daily and nightly skin treatments. I’m still in a bit of a shock slash disbelief about the price of that cleansing oil foam, but Memebox is actually selling them on their site for that much, so *shrug*. Regardless, it’s a really nice cleanser, and probably my favorite product from Box #8. I didn’t purchase #9, because I needed the money, but I might buy it separately later if they restock it and I like the contents.

Have you purchased any Memeboxes before? What did you think about Box #8?
