Catching up as fast as I can, guys! Even though my Memebox Global #15 is already on its way to me, I still need to review the 14th edition first. Due to some family business, I had to take a long break from blogging, so I’m super behind on reviews. As always, Memebox Global #14 came stuffed with a nice variety of products, there was definitely something for everyone!
HOW IT WORKS
Memebox Global is not a typical subscription service. They periodically release boxes filled with assorted beauty products popular among Koreans, and Limited Edition boxes are sold on first come first serve basis. Prices usually depend on the type of the box, but most of them are either $23 or $29 USD + $6.99 S&H. Memebox ships internationally, so if you are in Canada, Australia or anywhere in Europe, you can get your hands on one of these, too!

Recipe by Nature Golden Time Vita Capsule Essence – Normally it comes with a bow around the cap, but mine was broken. I’m going to fix it when I have time, because it really adds a lot of character to the bottle and makes it look so much more adorable! Not like it improves the quality of the product or anything, but who doesn’t like a pretty bottle on the vanity table?
Moving on to the product, this is a two-phase solution that has to be shaken well before application. The orange part is a mix of vitamin-rich essential oils, and the clear part is some kind of moisturizing liquid. When mixed together this serum-oil is used to target skin discolorations, dryness and wrinkles, and it’s best used after toner, essence, and serum in place of a moisturizer in the PM. I haven’t used it long enough to decide if I like it or not, but as far as reaction goes, so far I haven’t experienced any breakouts or irritation, which is always nice with skin oils. Fun fact: it kind of smells like this one self-heating anti-cellulite treatment from Yves Rocher I used to rub into my thighs and belly after workouts back in the day 🙂 This product is available in Memeshop.
Kocostar 4 Package Set – Oh goodness, I adore masks, and I would have never dreamed to receive so many in a box that isn’t a mask box! Can you say, I’m in a mask heaven right now? This variety pack includes Ggongji Hair Pack, Face Spot Mirror Patch, Finger Nail Pack, and Foot Peeling Pack.
Of these four I only used the hair pack and the foot mask so far. I don’t think the hair pack did anything for my fine hair, in fact, it almost made it look greasy. Most Asian women have beauytiful thick hair, so maybe this mask works wonders for them, but I try to use products that are mostly weightless, oherwise my hair looks flat and dirty. Now, the foot peeling pack is another story. I used it two days ago, and right now my feet feel so smooth, like they’re about to crack open. Memebox card says that my feet will start peeling like crazy after 3-5 days, so we’ll see what happens.
Sally’s Box 4SET – This is another awesome collection of masks from the brand I’ve been eyeing recently. Out of four, there were three hydrogel sheets and one cotton, and the hydrogel ones were definitely my favorite. I received this box while my Mom was staying over, so we used them all up during two SPA nights.
Mom used Collagen and Panthenol masks, and I tried Ceramide and Apple. Mom’s masks made a huuuge difference! Her skin looked a lot brighter, fresher and the pores seemed tighter. She now wants me to buy more of these masks for her whenever I have the opportunity 🙂 Now, while I liked my Ceramide mask, I was not a huge fan of the Apple one, because the solution just seemed way too sticky and didn’t want to absorb at all. This product is available in Memeshop.
VOV Good Bye Black Smudge Waterproof Mascara – I think the one I got is for length, but I’m not sure. I could always use another good waterproof mascara for my bottom lashes, and that is actually my little secret to prevent panda eyes.
I feel like this particular formula does nothing for me, which means I will probably use it exclusively on my bottom lashes. It seems to hold well against humidity and oil, so at least I can forget about worrying whether my mascara is smudging all over the place or not.
Shower Mate Perfume de Whip Body Wash x2 – There were three scent variations sent out, and I received Marilyn Red Fantasy and Pure White Blossom. I have not tried, or even opened these yet so the scent and effectiveness are still a complete mystery to me.
Memebox says these body washes are heavily fragranced because they act sort of like body perfume, with scents that linger on the skin for hours. I may be up for that depending on the notes; hopefully they feature lilacs or jasmine 🙂
Beauty People Miss 100 Super Waterproof Gel Liner Auto Pencil – Out of three possible colors, I received Glimmer Bronze, and it’s perfect! Remember that cranky Snow White eye pencil variety tin from my latest Cute Memebox? I’ve been using those pencils daily, and love them to pieces.
This is a full-sized version, and despite looking like a regular pencil that needs sharpening, it’s actually a twist-up: all you need is to turn it a little at the bottom. These pencils go on like silk, and once they set they’re bulletproof. This pencil stayed put on a very humid day, and not many products can achieve that on my oily lids. I’m not a huge fan of Korean makeup, but there are two things they know how to make well – eye pencils/liners and lip tints. I guess BB cream is up there too, but it’s considered to be part of skincare routine rather than makeup.
Sua Young Mineral Essence In Liquid Foundation SPF33 PA+++ – It’s really cool to finally try a foundation instead of BB creams, because most Asian women don’t use them. This color is a really good match for my skin tone, so I tried it on right away.
The formula is a bit runny, but surprisingly pigmented. It feels very moisturizing on the skin, so it was easy to spread and blend. I would say the coverage is medium, and can probably be built up to almost full. Although I loved the look and feel of this foundation, I think it’s meant for dry skin, because it provided way more moisture than my combination skin needs.
a;t fox Fantasy Holic Lip & Cheek Designer Pencil – I stalk enough Memebox bloggers to know that majority of them absolutely hate orange and coral colors, which makes me feel like I’m the odd one out, because I love both. Out of three possible shade variations, I received 01 Sweet Orange, and I love it!
The formula is the same as that tiny sample-sized lip & cheek pencil from Memebox Global #7 [reviewed here], which I ended up liking and using a lot this Summer. Now, the Orange color over here is a lot more summery, but since it’s almost October, I should probably just save it for Spring when it’s more appropriate [for me anyway].
Another solid Global box, in fact, it’s probably one of my all-time favorites. Memebox also included a surprisingly large number of makeup products, because usually it’s just one, at most two, and one of them would be a BB cream [aka not really makeup, but skincare]. Products that impressed me the most in this box were Beauty People eye pencil, Sua Young foundation [despite being the wrong kind of formula for my skin type], and Sally’s Box hydrogel masks.
