I sure did, so I can understand how excited One Direction fans are about the release of this Limited Edition Makeup Collection, that will hit the shelves of Macy’s on August 11th, and other retailers on August 25th. The collection consists of three look bundles that come in keepsake tins: Up All Night with vibrant blues and pinks for a flirty look [the one I will be talking about today], Take Me Home with neutral colors to achieve girl-next-door look. and Midnight Mystery with Hollywood bombshell shades like red and black.

BRAND OVERVIEW
The irreverent attitude and colorful style of a new generation takes on a glamorous form in Makeup by One Direction. The world’s biggest pop band debuts a limited-edition cosmetics collection by Markwins International, launching mid-August 2014 at Macy’s and select other major retailers worldwide. Much like the One Direction band members themselves, this prestige makeup line is fun, bold and a tad mischievous, featuring vivid shades, premium formulas and chic, collectible packaging and components.

This cool hot pink lip gloss is densely packed with iridescent shimmer and purple glitter particles, and provides gorgeous color to the lips. It also glows orange under UV light!

A gorgeous cool bubblegum pink creme lipstick that applies opaque in just one swipe. It also leaves a pretty tint on the lips, so you will still have a trace of pigment even when the formula fades away.

How pretty is this crayon? The color looks like the perfect pair of skinnies, and it looks just as great on the eyes and body. The formula is blendable, buildable, and buttery smooth.

Duh, of course I love this color! This mermaidy aqua blue metallic chrome goes on super smooth and streak-less, and sets with a gorgeous glossy finish. In the swatches I’m not wearing any top coat – it’s that shiny on its own!

7. 4+1 Eye Shadow Palette
Filled with shades of blue and balancing neutrals, this palette is actually quite versatile. There are four pressed powder colors and one creme glitter topper in the center. From left to right clockwise, the pans are called More Than This [mostly matte neutral soft blushing pink, with sparse silver shimmers], Save You Tonight [cool turquoise blue with silver metallic shimmer], Gotta Be You [cool satin taupe with silver microshimmer], Another World [cool royal blue with silver metallic shimmer], and Up All Night [sapphire glitter creme].

And here’s some swatcharoo action for you in the picture above. First up are the eyeshadows and eye & body pencil. The most pigmented shades are the shimmers, the eye pencil, and that pretty silvered taupe. Pale pink and glitter pot were not as pigmented, but the coverage was buildable. When applied to my eyes I experienced some fallout, especially from Gotta Be You [dark blue metallic].

Next swatch is the nail polish, and as you can see, it’s absolutely stunning and looks perfect for Summer. Sometimes metallic polishes can leave unsightly streaks, but that’s not the case with this one. It goes on smooth and dries to a beautiful glossy finish.

Now, here are swatches of lipstick and lip gloss. The lipstick is really pigmented, you’re seeing just two swipes in the swatch above. The lip gloss is also very pigmented as far as glosses go, and packed with party-perfect shimmer and glitter flecks. It really is a fun color!

And finally, here are some lip swatches. As you can see, the colors look great alone, together, and even when they wear off.
I created a fun look using these products, I hope you like it! For eyes I used More Than This as an all-over base color, Gotta Be You in the crease and along the bottom lash line, lined my eyes with Another World, and lightly tapped a little bit of Save You Tonight in the outer corners to add a subtle pop of color. I’m also wearing the mascara, and the blue pencil over the stencil with a cluster of tiny triangles.
