MAKE Silk Cream Lipstick in Taffy, MAKE Matte Finish Eyeshadow in Alabaster, MAKE makeup Review

My first experience with MAKE makeup was via Birchbox. I remember getting a teensy sample of their eye shadow and wondering what in the world I’m going to do with it. The eyeshadow turned out to be really good, so when I had the opportunity to buy one of their full-sized palettes at a discount, I jumped right on it and never regretted that impulse purchase. Today I am trying two more tiny samples, this time through Brandbacker: MAKE Silk Cream Lipstick in Taffy and Matte Finish Eyeshadow in Alabaster.

My sample of Silk Cream Lipstick was hard to use due to the its size, but I was able to make it work with a little help from my trusted lip brush. On the lips the color looked like a beautiful blooming tulip. Talk about spring-perfect, am I right? The lipstick was comfortable to wear and had a glossy buttery finish. I have a bad habit of rubbing my lips together, so lip products don’t last on me as long as they do on other people, but even so Silk Cream Lipstick managed to hold on for 3 hours before I needed touchups.

Enriched with antioxidants, rosehip, soybean and safflower oils, aloe, and chamomile extracts, MAKE Silk Cream Lipstick provides vivid color and takes care of your pout by moisturizing and protecting the delicate skin. All things considered, I just might add this one to my ever-growing wishlist, because I was left very impressed with the formula. I totally wish the sample was bigger though.

Like I said earlier, I am already familiar with the formula of MAKE Matte Finish Eyeshadows, and I own this very same color in full size, but the glitter variation. That’s right, you can buy Alabaster in matte or glitter finish, how cool is that? This is something I hope more cosmetic companies will do in the future. Sometimes I would find a beautiful shimmery shade and wish that it was matte instead and vice versa.

When wearing MAKE eyeshadows it’s important to remember to wear primer underneath, because they adhere to the skin immediately and can be hard to pack on and blend otherwise. With primer, these rich pigments last throughout the day without creasing and keep their color vibrancy like champs. There is also zero fallout, which is great news especially for darker shades.

As far as I know, MAKE Matte Finish Eyeshadow in Alabaster can only be purchased separately as an eyeshadow single. If you are after the glittery version of this soft peachy eggshell shade, but want to also try MAKE eyeshadows in other finishes, you need to check out Calypso or Aether palettes. They each come with 8 full-sized eyeshadow pans, so that’s $200 value for $40.

You can purchase MAKE makeup at MAKE, and Birchbox. Use code MAKEYOURSELF to get 20% off your online purchase at makebeauty.com, valid through 4/15/16.

Those are incredibly tiny samples, WOW! Thank you for the review. I think it’s really neat and unique that you can order a certain color in either a matte or glitter finish. What a cool idea!
