LUSH Easter 2014 Bunny Bubble Bar Review, Pictures

Hello Lushies! This Bunny Bubble Bar review is probably way overdue, because the collection’s been out for a while now, which is like years in the blogging world. I’ve been a huge procrastinator lately when it came to writing, because I had other things to take care of, but I decided I might as well post this review before it’s too late. I didn’t really purchase too many Easter products this year, just Bunny and another bath product that I will review shortly as well.

The 2014 Limited Edition Easter Collection includes eight products: Brightside bubble bath, Bunch of Carrots bubble bath, Carrot soap, Bunny bubble bath, The Immaculate Eggception bath bombs in Pink and Yellow, Fluffy Egg bath bomb, and Golden Egg bath bomb/melt. There are also two new Limited Edition gifts: Funny Bunny, and Carrot.

LUSH says Bunny Bubble Bar contains “loads of coconut oil and shea butter to soften and moisturize the skin, and the sweet, comforting fragrance of Fairtrade vanilla absolute to calm the mind. Tiny blue cornflower petals are at the center of this Bunny’s tummy and will swirl about in the tub for the ultimate springtime bathing experience.”

Sometimes I see people asking how to use LUSH solid bubble bath bars. In most cases they are crumbled under the running water, right at the very beginning when the tub only starts filling up. This will ensure that you get the maximum volume of bubbles, and the oils and waxes diffuse properly by the time the bath fills up and you are ready to jump in and enjoy some much-deserved me time.

Bunny Bubble Bar is large enough for two uses, which is amazing because it’s become one of my all-time favorite bath products; and who doesn’t like to make their favorites last as long as possible? Bunny shares the same fragrance as another LUSH best-seller: Creamy Candy Bubble Bar. The bar is loaded with coconut oil and shea butter, making the skin delightfully scented and amazingly soft. As a special bonus, LUSH included blue cornflower petals that scatter around the tub; it’s like a bath with rose petals, but cuter.

Tip: if you are not a big fan of the petals, stick the bar into a nylon sock and put it under the running water to dissolve.

Now before I forget, I have to mention the most important part – the cleanup. Since this bar contains so many oils and butters, as well as flower petals, the cleanup is not going to be quick. However, I found that the flowers were small enough and didn’t clog my drain, so I could easily wash them down. The buttery residue came off with some extra rubbing, for reference it took me about 5 minutes to clean the whole tub.

THE VERDICT
Bunny Bubble Bar makes the skin soft and smooth, thanks to big chunks of cocoa and shea butters included in the formula. Sweet vanilla fragrance lingers on the skin for many hours after the bath. One bar is big enough for two baths, making the price tag seem a bit less intimidating. The cleanup is easy, although not as quick as one would hope.

LUSH has some seriously amazing products, but mostly it’s the fragrances that lure me in every time. If you’re ever in the area with a Lush store, you should walk in and ask for some samples, they’re usually very generous.

This is so cute. I was looking at getting this. I got some other LUSH items for Easter and I love them.

The bunny is my favorite from the line. My bunny has blue eyes! I want yours and it’s purple eyes!

Mine too, Laura! My bunny has purple eyes because I bought it from the UK site 🙂 US bunnies are made with blue candy.

Are these hard to break open to get multiple uses? I’ve wondered about the ones that have smaller bath bombs inside!

    • April 6, 2014 / 10:14 pm

Not at all! Mine was very soft, even a kid could easily crumble it. The consistency is very similar to fresh shortbread dough.

How CUTE is that?!?! I think, from the description of the smell, that i would really like this one.

He’s adorable 🙂 And not only does he smell great, he will moisturize your skin just as well as a nice thick body lotion!

Very cute bunny! Unfortunately, my tub has a leaking problem that none of the plumbers I’ve tried can fix without ripping out all the pipes. So baths are not in my immediate future. With the shea butter and coconut oil and vanilla scent, it does sound like a lovely product
