This post wraps up my LUSH Christmas haul, and the final products I want to show you are Snowman Jelly and Yog Nog soap. Both of them are brand new and have been introduced for the first time this year, so it’s actually kind of exciting to try them.
I never tried a shower jelly from Lush before, even though they are crazy popular, so I didn’t know what to expect from this one. Snowman Jelly is pure white in color, and shaped like a blob that eerily resembles Frosty. How can a snowman smell? Like carrots, of course! The formula also features buchu, bergamot and Sicilian lemon oils, suspended in a softening base of carrageenan seaweed and glycerin. Carrageenan is pretty controversial in food products, but it’s not at all a threat in wash-off skincare, like cleansers, shampoos, and body washes.
I didn’t give it much thought, but when the time came to take a shower, I actually got confused. How do you even use a blob of jello to wash yourself? After consulting the website, it seems that you can either break off a small piece and stick it in your loofah for some oomph, or take the whole thing and run it across wet skin, which is what I did. Snowman Jelly really didn’t lather much, but my skin still felt clean. Since most of us buy Lush products just for their fragrances, this one smells like carrots and not much else; yeah, pretty boring to be honest, so I don’t think I’ll purchase it again.
Yog Nog is a creamy-type soap, so be prepared for it to disappear quickly. It’s also one of the most moisturizing soaps in Lush solid soap lineup. In includes lots of oils and butters that cleanse and soften the skin, and scented with deliciously sweet fragrance that makes me want to eat this bar. Seriously!
While it does sort of remind me of egg nog, I think my most accurate association would be sweet french vanilla panna cotta lightly dusted with cocoa powder. It’s that scent of real comfort food that can fool your brain into thinking you’re looking at a piece of fudge. When Christmas sale starts I will definitely stock up on this one, because that’s the thing with LE products, you never know if they’re coming back next year, or ever again.
