Love Goodly April/May 2019 Box Review

Love Goodly April/May 2019 Box Review

It’s been a while since I featured a subscription box, but we’re back with April/May 2019 Love Goodly box. I don’t know if many of you still remember, but this blog used to be written almost exclusively about subscription boxes. When I moved away from that niche and asked the companies to remove my address from the PR mailings, some subscription boxes still remained on my list because to me they offered a different kind of value – a mission and a purpose, while still encouraging me to try out new brands and products. Love Goodly is one of them: it’s always an interesting mix of eco-friendly, natural beauty and lifestyle brands plus the company donates to a charitable cause to benefit the animals. What’s not to love?

HOW IT WORKS:

Love Goodly offers two subscription tiers. For $34.95 Love Goodly Essential Box subscribers will receive a curated selection of 4-5 eco-conscious, vegan, & natural products delivered every other month. Alternatively, for $48.95 you can opt-in for the VIP box, which includes all of the bi-monthly products included in the Essential Box, plus one additional full-sized beauty product with a value over $35. Click here to subscribe.

Love Goodly April/May 2019 Box Review - 100% Pure Fruit Pigmented® Cocoa Butter Matte Lipstick Aubergine

100% Pure Fruit Pigmented® Cocoa Butter Matte Lipstick in Aubergine

CONTENTS:

1 // 100% Pure Fruit Pigmented® Cocoa Butter Matte Lipstick ($30) – As a subscriber, you get to choose the lipstick shade among the available three: Sahara (neutral, deep nude), Cacti (cool toned sepia-brown), and Aubergine (deep eggplant). Because this is a PR box, I didn’t get to pick mine and randomly received Aubergine, which looks really badass in person! One thing I always admired about 100% Pure is the variety of fun, bold shades you don’t typically associate with natural makeup brands. It’s no wonder they are a household name in the clean beauty community. Even if you are skeptical about the whole natural & non-toxic thing, the lipsticks are well worth checking out. The color payoff is fantastic and they nourish the lips like lip balm. Besides, it’s true that we end up accidentally ingesting our lipstick throughout the day, might as well ingest something made out of botanical butters and fruit pigments.

100% Pure Fruit Pigmented® Cocoa Butter Matte Lipstick is vegan, non-toxic, gluten-free and cruelty-free.

Love Goodly April/May 2019 Box Review - 100% Pure Bamboo Blur Powder in Translucent

100% Pure Bamboo Blur Powder in Translucent

2 // 100% Pure Bamboo Blur Powder ($41) – This setting powder comes in four shades, and all subscribers received the universally flattering Translucent. The powder is so finely milled that you never even see the little powder dust on your skin, only the mattifying effect. I checked the ingredient list because I was curious what makes it work so well and to my surprise, there’s only one, single ingredient – bamboo silica. Talk about magic!

100% Pure Bamboo Blur Powder is vegan, non-toxic, gluten-free and cruelty-free.

Love Goodly April/May 2019 Box Review - Alka-White The Alkaline Oral Cleanse + pH Strips

Alka-White The Alkaline Oral Cleanse + pH Strips

3 // Alka-White The Alkaline Oral Cleanse ($9.99) – I am no stranger to pH, as you may know, which is why I found this little kit so interesting. I’ve been testing my skincare and even body fluids for pH for various reasons, so I know that every area of your body needs to have a certain pH level to perform at optimal levels. This kit comes with a set of pH strips and tablets made with coconut oil and turmeric to balance your oral pH levels. I don’t know if you heard of oil pulling, but those two ingredients are often used to promote oral hygiene.

Alka-White The Alkaline Oral Cleanse is vegan, non-toxic, gluten-free and cruelty-free.

Love Goodly April/May 2019 Box Review - Delia Organics Creme de la Creme Body Whip

Delia Organics Creme de la Creme Body Whip

4 // Delia Organics Creme de la Creme Body Whip ($15.99) – I could have sworn it smells like cloves and cardamom, but the ingredient list shows cinnamon oil and vanilla oils instead, which also smell similar. Despite its lightweight, cloud-like whipped texture, this body butter is very rich and nourishing. I am currently leaving it overnight on rough areas, like heels, knees, and elbows, and it never struggles to penetrate through all the layers of dry skin. Now I need to figure out how to exfoliate them better, but that’s another story.

Delia Organics Creme de la Creme Body Whip is vegan, non-toxic, and cruelty-free.

Love Goodly April/May 2019 Box Review - Angie’s Sweet & Salty Popcorn

Angie’s Sweet & Salty Popcorn

5 // Angie’s Sweet & Salty Popcorn ($2.50) – I always welcome additional healthy snacks, and popcorn is one of the best things for a volume eater. These cute little kernels pack a flavorful punch and give you lots of fiber without packing on a ton of calories.

Angie’s Sweet & Salty Popcorn is made with non-GMO corn, and is both vegan-friendly and gluten-free.

BOTTOM LINE:

As always, this box made a great addition to my routine. I was very excited to try the oral health kit and it was fun to witness firsthand how the pH in my mouth changes throughout the day. I will probably give the lipstick to a friend because she will get a lot more use out of it but definitely keeping the setting powder in my rotation. Can’t beat the purity of a single-ingredient product, and besides, it works pretty well to mattify my shiny forehead without overdrying the skin. The body butter is lovely, but because I can only use it on rough areas it’s unlikely that I’ll seek to purchase it in full size. Btw, you can’t change my mind – it totally smells like cardamom and cloves, lol. 😉

Every Love Goodly box benefits a charitable cause, and the April/May box gives back to Farm Sanctuary, a leading farm animal protection organization.
