LAQA & Co Nail Threefer Gift Set Review, Swatches, Nail PolishA few months ago I received this adorable Nail Threefer – a new value gift set from LAQA & Co that contained three different party ready nail polishes. Two of them didn’t have a name sticker on, and looks like they are exclusive to the kit, and one is called Greedy Guts. I decided to divide them in three unofficial categories: Classic, Classic With a Twist, and Edgy Chic.

LAQA & Co Nail Threefer Gift Set Review, Swatches, Nail PolishGreedy Guts, the classic cool-toned vampy red creme, was the first one I tried on. It had smooth buttery formula, and opaque coverage, that made applying second coat unnecessary, however I still did that out of habit. The high concentration of pigment in the polish helps achieve streak-less application, and paired with a layer of glossy top coat it can add some old Hollywood glamour to any look.

LAQA & Co Nail Threefer Gift Set Review, Swatches, Nail PolishThe edgy polish, which LAQA & Co calls Black + Gold, actually looked more like black + silver to me. It’s a dark black jelly base with fairly high concentration of silver glitter flecks that goes on sheer, but can be built up for desired opacity. To get the effect I wanted, I needed at least three thin coats. This polish looks great with or without top coat, and as with any glitter, it can be a pain to remove if you leave it on for too long.

It’s probably best described as a warm-toned brick red creme with tracks of golden metallic shimmer. The first coat is not very pigmented, but it turns fully opaque after the second one, and sets with very lovely semi-matte shimmery finish. Just like the previous polish, I think I like this one both with top coat and without.

LAQA & Co Nail Threefer Gift Set Review, Swatches, Nail PolishConsidering the price for LAQA & Co polishes is $13/pop, Nail Threefer set is actually a pretty good deal for $22 USD. It will make a nice gift for someone who is only starting to build their nail polish stash, or for any brand fans who want to own exclusive polish colors.
