LAQA & Co Nail Threefer Gift Set Review, Swatches, Nail PolishA few months ago I received this adorable Nail Threefer – a new value gift set from LAQA & Co that contained three different party ready nail polishes. Two of them didn’t have a name sticker on, and looks like they are exclusive to the kit, and one is called Greedy Guts. I decided to divide them in three unofficial categories: Classic, Classic With a Twist, and Edgy Chic.

LAQA & Co Nail Threefer Gift Set Review, Swatches, Nail PolishGreedy Guts, the classic cool-toned vampy red creme, was the first one I tried on. It had smooth buttery formula, and opaque coverage, that made applying second coat unnecessary, however I still did that out of habit. The high concentration of pigment in the polish helps achieve streak-less application, and paired with a layer of glossy top coat it can add some old Hollywood glamour to any look.

LAQA & Co Nail Threefer Gift Set Review, Swatches, Nail PolishThe edgy polish, which LAQA & Co calls Black + Gold, actually looked more like black + silver to me. It’s a dark black jelly base with fairly high concentration of silver glitter flecks that goes on sheer, but can be built up for desired opacity. To get the effect I wanted, I needed at least three thin coats. This polish looks great with or without top coat, and as with any glitter, it can be a pain to remove if you leave it on for too long.

LAQA & Co Nail Threefer Gift Set Review, Swatches, Nail PolishLast but not least, we got this classic with a twist Shimmery Burgundy. It’s probably best described as a warm-toned brick red creme with tracks of golden metallic shimmer. The first coat is not very pigmented, but it turns fully opaque after the second one, and sets with very lovely semi-matte shimmery finish. Just like the previous polish, I think I like this one both with top coat and without.

LAQA & Co Nail Threefer Gift Set Review, Swatches, Nail PolishConsidering the price for LAQA & Co polishes is $13/pop, Nail Threefer set is actually a pretty good deal for $22 USD. It will make a nice gift for someone who is only starting to build their nail polish stash, or for any brand fans who want to own exclusive polish colors.

It is a good deal at the bundled price. I love Shimmery Burgundy and the shine on the red is stunning

That burgundy is very pretty in person, the pictures don’t do it justice!

Those colors are a great match together!

Ooh – this would be such fun colors for Halloween or Valentine’s day. I am loving the black for sure.

It’s a beautiful sophisticated black, not goth and not a glitterbomb. It’s my most worn of the three 🙂

Those are pretty, but a little spendy for such small bottles. At least the bundle is a better deal.

Yeah, LAQA is more of a spendy boutique brand, but I like the fact that they donate a portion of all proceeds to young artists.

    That black one looks awesome!

    • April 12, 2015 / 1:10 am

It’s definitely a unique color, I think Zoya Storm might be close, but it has multi-colored glitter.

    • April 12, 2015 / 1:09 am

Right? I wasn’t too inspired when I saw them in bottles, but each of the colors really shines when worn on the nails.

I like the black and silver. Pretty

    • April 12, 2015 / 1:09 am

Me, too. It’s totally a “cool girl” shade!

I buy LE nail polishes all the time. I have become a polish junkie and posts like this one don’t help curb this. LOL

    • April 12, 2015 / 1:08 am

Haha, you and me both Marcia 🙂 I had a period in my life when I would prefer to buy nail polish over makeup, and now I don’t know what to do with all of those bottles.

I love ’em. Great deal indeed!

    • April 12, 2015 / 1:08 am

For sure! I don’t see LAQA polishes on sale often, and the set has 2 LE shades.

Black and gold is so pretty!

    • April 12, 2015 / 1:07 am

Right? I’m loving it, too, but I don’t really see any gold in it, just silver, which doesn’t make it any less pretty 🙂

I really like LAQA & Co polishes, and this set looks really fun! I think Greedy Guts is probably the most everyday wearable shade, but they’re all quite pretty.

    • April 12, 2015 / 1:06 am

This is supposed to be a party-ready set, so the idea was to have a color for every occasion. I bet Greedy Huts is for the black tie event, so classic and timeless!

    Gorgeous shades. Love all 3

    • April 12, 2015 / 10:26 am

Me, too! They’re all great for different occasions, but that black one is just mesmerizing. Love the glitter, it makes the nails look like starry sky!

    The colors are so pretty

They truly are, the pictures don’t do them justice.

I love the two with shimmer the most! Stunning polishes! Really need to get my hand on one.

    • April 24, 2015 / 4:58 pm

I know, right? That black one – be still my heart! It’s like staring into the night sky. I feel like if I stare long enough I’ll eventually see falling stars 🙂
