LAQA & Co Lambchop + Pinkman Lil’ Lip Duo Review, Swatches

You might remember my LAQA & Co. nail polish reviews, but today I want to share my thoughts on their fabulous lip pencils. I spotted those for the first time last year when they were being sampled in Birchbox, and even though I wasn’t among the lucky ones to get one in my box, I now finally have the opportunity to try two colors: Pinkman and Lambchop.

Bright packaging.

Both of these come in a cute sliding box, decorated with artwork by a young artist Ali Gulec. In case you forgot, LAQA & Co. donates a portion of the proceeds to support young artists, so Mr. Gulec will get his share each time this duo is purchased 🙂

Arm swatches taken in the sun.

The first shade I tried was Lambchop, which can be described as bright bubblegum pink. The formula is very opaque and goes on smoothly and evenly, setting with a lovely satin finish. After the color wears off it leaves behind bright stain that lasts for more hours than I cared to count. I applied it, wore it all day long, ate, drank, and woke up the next day with the stain still on my lips. This is a product I would wear to the beach or pool to give my face come color without having to actually wear makeup. One minor flaw I absolutely have to mention – it tends to accentuate lip imperfections, so make sure to exfoliate your lips well.

Another look at the packaging.

The second color is Pinkman, a deep fuchsia, almost a true Barbie pink, but darker. I loved it! If Lambchop is a girly version, Pinkman is a more sophisticated shade of pink, that looks appropriate for any situation. Like Lambchop, Pinkman is very pigmented and buttery, which makes it super easy to apply, however unlike Lambchop it doesn’t accentuate the flaws on the lips at all, which is surprising, because I’d expect them both to have the same formula. It also provides the same staining effect and incredible longevity, making it perfect for those days when you need your makeup to last no matter what.

Had to step into the shade to take these pictures. L to R: Lambchop, Pinkman

Me too Destany, especially when I know I’ll have to run errands for a while. Touchups is the last thing on my mind when I’m busy, so it’s nice that there are long-lasting products like these lippies.

They look amazing on you. I tried one a couple years ago and hated it – maybe it was a dud?

    • June 8, 2014 / 6:55 pm

Thank you! I couldn’t find a single thing to hate about these so you might have received a defective one, or maybe they were reformulated.
