Is it just me, or are there really not that many reviews about this particular shade? Rosy Rouge came out as part of Lancome‘s Limited Edition French Ballerine Collection for Spring 2014, along with three other beautiful colors. The collection was inspired by tutus and ballet slippers, and includes mostly shades of pink, brown, coral and some purple.
“Love your lips! Finally, the long wear lipcolor you’ll love to wear. This collection of radiant, high potency colors, with up to 6 hours of wear, is surprisingly featherlight, offering delightful comfort. Available now in 6 new shades to love.”

Rouge in Love lipsticks come in three categories:
Jolis Matins: Fresh shades for daytime wear. Jolis Matins shades are identified with the letter M in the shade number.
Boudoir Time: Pop shades for cocktail hour. Bourdoir Time shades are identified with the letter B in the shade number.
Tonight is My Night: Intense shades for magical nights. Tonight is My Night shades are identified with the letter N in the shade number.
Rosy Rouge is marked B, so Lancome recommends wearing it in the afternoon, or as they say “during the cocktail hour”. I think it’s a lovely daytime shade, and I personally would wear it in the mornings, too.
Rosy Rouge is a beautiful true pink rose color, with lightweight, ultrapigmented formula that provides medium-full opacity in just one swipe and sets with glossy satin finish. Lancome promised at least six hours of wear, however, even with minimal eating and drinking, the color wore off after about 5 hours, leaving behind a pink stain. Considering the buttery formula, I honestly expected it to last less than that, so I’m not really complaining.

The lipstick comes in a distinctive aluminum bullet case, which looks very unique in my lippy stash. The size of the case makes it look small, but with the color stick twisted all the way up we can see that it has the same amount of actual product as any other lipstick.
Don’t forget to exfoliate the lips if you plan on wearing this lipstick, because the color is unforgiving and will accentuate every dry spot you might have. During wear I noticed some minor feathering and setting into lip creases, which made me think Rosy Rouge would be a bad choice if your lips have deep lines that you would rather not showcase.

Overall, my first experience with Lancome Rouge in Love lipstick in Rosy Rouge was mostly positive. It felt incredibly light on the lips, and lasted a solid 5 hours, leaving behind a pretty pink stain. I wasn’t crazy about the feathering, but next time I wore it with a clear lip liner, and it worked much better that way. Don’t forget to exfoliate the lips, because the formula really accentuates any imperfections, you might have, including deep lip lines.
