Catchy title, isn’t it? When it comes to dramatic looks, nothing says drama better than bold eye looks, and today I wanted to show you a subtle yet dramatic makeup I created using the latest and greatest innovations from one of my favorite makeup brands – Lancome Drama Liqui-Pencils.
Before I even start talking about the formula, I want to bring up the vast variety of shades available. Sephora exclusively stocks all 16 of them, and the range of colors and finishes is just overwhelming! If I had to pick just two or three I wouldn’t be able to. There are mattes, shimmers, metallics, pearls, pastels, that come in traditional hues like black, brown, navy, and white, as well as bright neons.
Alright, now onto the formula, which Lancome calls revolutionary. Unlike other eye pencils, Lancome Drama Liqui-Pencils are essentially a liquid liner suspended in a plastic ferrule, so they deliver unprecedented performance and are guaranteed to stay on for at least 24 hours.
One thing I always look for in my eye pencils – softness. If the pencil is hard, I will end up with a million excuses not to use it anymore. And honestly, guys, I thought my favorite UD pencils were hard to top, but I genuinely like the formula of Lancome Drama Liqui-Pencils better. Sometimes the quality varies from shade to shade, but these all turned out to be soft, long-lasting, and intensely pigmented – all of them!
The only con worth mentioning [which isn’t even a con but more like something I’m always slightly annoyed with] is the fact that they require manual sharpening. The formula is really soft, so I already managed to lose a couple tips to the sharpener. However, I love these so much I am willing to sharpen them when needed, although I would much rather prefer the twist-up tube.
Here are the swatches of all sixteen shades, but I am warning you, this is some top grade enabling!
Swatch reference: My skin tone is between MAC NC15 and NW15 with yellowish hue and neutral undertones. Sometimes I can wear NW20 in the Summer. I thought this would be useful to know, since all screens show colors differently, and I also don’t have a studio setup with consistent lighting. Hope that helps!
I also decided to experiment a little and created this bright look utilizing some colors I rarely use in makeup. Love the way it turned out! I literally did each eye in four swipes: the top lid is lined with Paradis [pearlized tropical green], then I dragged Lumiére [silver metallic] along the bottom lash line starting from the middle of the lid and extended it beyond the eye, creating a reverse wing of sorts. I also decided to add a thin line of Lumiére halfway along the top lash line, starting from the inner corner of the eye. I think it added a little depth to the overall look without stealing the spotlight from that gorgeous green. Finally, I swiped a quick line of Soleil [bright matte yellow] just below the silver line on my bottom lid to add some contrast.
As far as the rest of my makeup goes, I used a whole bunch of different concealers, Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless Foundation in Porcelain 110, Hourglass Ambient Bronzer in Luminous Bronze Light for the crease, Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Mood Exposure, and Hourglass Arch Brow Pencil in Warm Blonde. I also used Lancome Hypnose Drama mascara to add volume and definition to my lashes that really finished the look.
If you read everything up until this paragraph, you already know that I am absolutely obsessed with these fantastic pencils. Sometimes bloggers rave about products they wouldn’t buy on their own unless they were provided by the company, and after trying Lancome Drama Liqui-Pencils I can tell you with certainty that I will be back for more if the brand releases other shades. These really are outstanding!

I love the eye look you created with them. I am so curious about these liners. Have you tried them on your waterline? If so, do they stay on the waterline?
Thank you Allison! I have not tried them on my waterline and not planning to. I find that it makes my eyes appear smaller, even if I line with lighter colors like white or nude. They did seem to be pretty bulletproof on my lids and arm swatches – I had to use three different oils to wash them off. They don’t come off with regular cleanser or even with soap!
I love these pencils! They color selection is fabulous and they last so well on me!!
Glad to hear that, Brooke! I’ve been super impressed with their longevity as well, and I have oily lids.
Your look with them is pretty!
Thank you!
These liners are so pretty! I love the eye looks you did with them.
Thank you, Erika!
Everytime I see these liners on a blog I want a few of them!
They really are outstanding – Lancome did well formulating these.
WHAT, you actually pulled off the yellow!!!!! Love it!
Guuurl, this is all thanks to the green! Yellow is a million miles away from my comfort zone, I pretty much NEVER wear it!
It seriously looks SO good.
The colors of these amaze me. They are so vibrant.
Right? I am thrilled with their performance – all of them.
I want to try these so badly!!
You will be blown away – the quality is seriously outstanding.
So many pretty colors to choose from. I’m loving Parisian Night.
It’s a beautiful one, no doubt!
These liners are so good. I have already had to sharpen one of them twice That is a big deal for me.
Yass! I sharpened a couple of them too – the purple shimmery one and the brown.
what a fun and easy makeup look! That paradis is so pretty, but the three blues at the end of your swatches are calling to me!
Thank you! I love the way this look turned out, I was afraid I’d look crazy with yellow eyeliner 🙂 Those blues are gorgeous indeed!
I am obsessed with these eyeliners, they are amazing! I love the look you created, it’s so beautiful xo
Thank you Brigette! Like you, I am soooo in love with these, and I didn’t think I’d ever find any other favorite eyeliners aside from UD and Pixi. Lancome really outdid themselves this time!
