My Honest Opinion on Keranique Clean & Condition Set

Hey, dolls! I’ve been kind of absent for the past couple of days, and if you follow me on Snapchat [add by username – glamorable], you already know why. Instead of a lengthy explanation I want to jump right into the swing of things and introduce today’s topic of discussion – Keranique Clean & Condition duo, that was sent to me by iFabbo to try.

Read more at >> www.glamorable.com | via @glamorable #keraniquehair #ifabbomemberLush, voluminous hair is trending big time right now, but if you have fine and flat hair like me, the struggle is real. That’s where thickening products come in! I’ve tried a lot of things to make my strands appear fuller, from scalp treatments to supplements, and I discovered that some of them really do work wonders, while others fell flat on their promise [pun totally intended!].

Keranique Clean & Condition Set includes Scalp Stimulating Shampoo and the Volumizing Keratin Conditioner, that are designed to work in tandem to stimulate your scalp and hair follicles for thicker, fuller hair. This promise might sound sketchy, but after trying a bunch of similar systems over the years, some of them actually deliver on their promise.

Read more at >> www.glamorable.com | via @glamorable #keraniquehair #ifabbomemberKeranique Scalp Stimulating Shampoo has a sulfate-free formula, which is a big plus when choosing a gentle cleanser for fine hair. In the past, however, I found some higher end shampoos containing sulfates didn’t dry out my hair, so in my experience it all came down to how balanced the formula was overall. This shampoo tingled my scalp a little bit, which is not uncommon with stimulating products. After I washed my hair, it looked clean and shiny, but no fuller than usual. However, my scalp felt like it was very clean and fresh, probably as a result of that slight tingling.

Now, Keranique Volumizing Keratin Conditioner tingled quite a lot, because it contains both peppermint and menthol. On my scalp this sensation felt similar to those slimming body gels that you apply after workouts. It was intense, y’all! Considering that this system is supposed to be used regularly, and I wash my hair 3-4 times a week, I don’t think I want my scalp to feel that way so often.

For the sake of the experiment I gave Keranique Clean & Condition Set a 20-day test drive, and while my hair appeared just a little bit fuller at the end of the trial, I don’t think I could ever get past the intense tingling that accompanied the process. And if I’m being brutally honest here, I think the result wasn’t all that impressive anyway. But then again, we all have different hair types and scalps, so even though these products didn’t work for me, they are someone else’s HG.

Just lick yourself clean!” But the question is, why don’t I just stick with the thing that works and stop trying the others? I guess I just like trying new things and it gives me an excuse to talk about them on this blog 🙂

I don’t need volumizing but I am actually curious about the scalp tingling sensation!

    • October 22, 2015 / 12:59 pm

I know some people like it, but to me it was just too intense.

  2. October 20, 2015 / 6:55 pm

I didn’t mind the tingling. I use Tea tree oil a lot, so maybe that’s why heh. I loved that it cleansed all the products out of my hair. I enjoyed it, but I think it was a little pricey.

Your scalp must be less sensitive than mine, because it itched like crazy!

      • October 22, 2015 / 1:00 pm

My scalp probably has no feeling after all the bleach I have used in my life heheh

You lost me at the scalp tinglng. I don’t like products that bother my scalp.

    • October 22, 2015 / 1:00 pm

Yup, I wasn’t a fan of that either, but I know some people like it.

    Your kitty is so cute

  5. October 20, 2015 / 8:55 pm

OMG your kitty is adorable!! I hear you about trying new things, that’s why we’re bloggers I guess!

    • October 22, 2015 / 1:00 pm

Haha, yep! Love trying new products, but hate when they disappoint me.

You gave it a fair shot and that’s all you can do. I’m sure this is ideal for some people but it’s obviously not “one size fits all”.

    • October 22, 2015 / 1:01 pm

That’s for sure! I don’t mind slight tingling now and then, like Pureology hair products or something, but this one was too much for my scalp.

I actually love the intense tingle in items like these! Your kitty is gorgeous!

    • October 22, 2015 / 1:01 pm

Thank you! And I’m glad that you liked the tingling 🙂 These beauty products are so YMMV, right?

Stop the cuteness Luna, you make me weak!!!!!

    • October 22, 2015 / 1:02 pm

Girl, join the club! I am bossed around by her cuteness every day 🙂

  9. October 21, 2015 / 12:24 am

Luna obviously uses something awesome on her hair.. uh, fur. lol! I like a slight tingle with a cleansing shampoo, but that sounds a little intense! Great way to wake up in the morning, I suppose!

    • October 22, 2015 / 1:03 pm

I like a little tingle too, or rather it’s not that I like it, but I don’t mind it. This one was just too much for me, but some other ladies tried this duo and liked it, so it’s obviously just me.

    • October 22, 2015 / 1:04 pm

Maybe you will like it more than I did!

  10. October 21, 2015 / 1:35 am

Thanks for the honest review! I’m not a fan of the scalp-tingling feeling either. Which is my gripe with most Korean hair care products as well – they tingle, don’t they?

    • October 22, 2015 / 1:04 pm

I actually don’t mind a little tingling, but this one was just too intense for my liking. And yes, now that you mention it, a lot of Korean hair care seemed to tingle.

  11. October 21, 2015 / 9:35 am

    Awww kitty! hehe So adorable.

  12. October 21, 2015 / 10:07 am

Luna! <3 I like the shampoo for an occasional clarifying wash, but I too couldn't stand the super strong tingle of the conditioner.

    • October 22, 2015 / 1:05 pm

Glad I wasn’t alone in this; my scalp couldn’t take tingling that intense. Bummer, because I would have loved some extra volume.

  13. October 21, 2015 / 3:13 pm

SO happy to see your honest review! IDK if I could handle tingling, either = Not if the result weren’t REALLY noticeable.

    • October 22, 2015 / 1:06 pm

I don’t mind a little tingling, but in this case it was too intense and bothersome. It’s just my own reaction to it though, sounds like some fellow bloggers had great results with this duo. Beauty is so YMMV!

    • October 29, 2015 / 12:08 am

I can take light tingling, but the conditioner was too intense for my scalp.
