Sephora Favorites Clean Me Up Kit Review & Swatches
Not everything is worth it at Sephora, but their value kits usually are. I grabbed the new Sephora Favorites Clean Me Up Kit ($35) as soon as it came out and had it in my hands a few days later. Sounds like many people are experiencing order mixups and missing or wrong items, but aside from not getting the samples I requested, my order experience went pretty well.
Sephora Favorites Clean Me Up Kit is one of the best in terms of value that’s available right now. It contains 3 full-sized items and 3 generously-sized deluxe minis from some of the top selling brands. I mainly bought it for the Tower 28 mascara because I wanted to try it for a while, and it’s $20 just on its own. So I didn’t mind paying $15 for the remaining products, it just seems like a really good deal – and glad I did!
Here’s everything that came in the set and some quick reviews plus swatches:
- Kulfi Underlined Kajal Clean Waterproof Long-Wear Eyeliner in Cheeky Chiku (full size) – Perfect medium brown shade, looks less stark on fair skin than black eyeliner and goes really well with the brown mascara from this set. The formula is actually long-lasting once it sets, but goes on very smooth and creamy upon application.
- Youth To The People Mini Superfood Air-Whip Lightweight Face Moisturizer with Hyaluronic Acid (mini size) – It’s a fairly basic daily moisturizer with HA and antioxidants. The formula feels very airy and lightweight, probably best suited for people with oily and combination skin types. It was fine, but nothing special.
- LAWLESS Forget The Filler Lip Plumper Line Smoothing Gloss in Velvet (full size) – Beautiful rosy mauve shade in the tube but it goes on a lot more sheer, so you won’t see too much of that original color. The formula is non-sticky and makes the lips feel smooth and plump, effectively hiding the fine lines and wrinkles.
- Tower 28 Beauty MakeWaves Lengthening + Volumizing Mascara in Brown (full size) – The sole reason I bought the set, and it did not disappoint! Curved wand is great at curling and separating every lash, and the formula goes on cleanly and without clumps. Long-lasting, doesn’t give me panda eyes, and easily washes off with oil cleanser. Very flattering shade too, I’m happy I got it!
- amika Dream Routine Overnight Hydrating Hair Mask (deluxe size) – The only product in this set I’m kind of “whatever” on, this mask wasn’t a good fit for my fine hair. It’s probably ok if you plan on washing your hair in the morning, but I think it just weighs down the strands and makes them look a little greasy. The formula is very nourishing and my hair does look better after I wash it off.
- Saie Mini Glowy Super Gel Lightweight Dewy Highlighter in Sunglow (mini size) – I recently got a liquid bronzer in my Boxycharm but it’s a lot darker. I like the slip and the lightweight feel of Saie formula, but I wish the shade was a little bit cooler. I can still make it work by mixing it with my base or just wearing it on my shoulders and collarbones to give them that perfect glowy look. Definitely interested in trying other shades of this one!
Sephora Favorites Clean Me Up Kit ($35) is available exclusively at Sephora, online and in stores. The set goes in and out of stock, so if it’s sold out right now, be sure to sign up to get notified by email. It’s totally worth it!
