Ipsy Glam Bag Plus October 2020 Unboxing & Review

Ipsy Glam Bag Plus October 2020 Unboxing & Review

I was pretty excited to receive my very first Ipsy Glam Bag Plus, because four years ago when I ended my subscription, that option didn’t exist yet. I like the idea of paying a little extra to receive only full-sized products, and it seems to be a good value, too. Also, I kinda dig the drawstring pouches! There are only so many cosmetic bags I could use, but I always need pouches to keep random stuff – from socks to hair accessories.

HOW IT WORKS:

Each month you will receive a new drawstring pouch filled with a mix of 5 full-sized beauty products customized according to your beauty profile. Ipsy Glam Bag Plus members can watch videos and play along with the stylists, all for only $25/month ($120+ value). Click here to check it out.

Ipsy Glam Bag Plus October 2020 Unboxing & Review - Laruce Beauty Face Brush Set Ipsy Glam Bag Plus October 2020 Unboxing & Review - Laruce Beauty Face Brush Set

Laruce Beauty Face Brush Set

1 // Laruce Beauty Face Brush Set ($134) – I can be picky about my brushes but this little quartet is beautiful! Perfectly shaped, minky-soft synthetic bristles pair so well with their weighty solid handles. The website also mentions that they’re handmade, and that’s something I always appreciate. All in all, this set alone would have made this entire bag worth it if I had purchased it with my own money. 5/5

Ipsy Glam Bag Plus October 2020 Unboxing & Review - Sunday Riley A+ High-Dose Retinol Serum

Sunday Riley A+ High-Dose Retinol Serum

2 // Sunday Riley A+ High-Dose Retinol Serum ($85) – I looked into this serum when I was researching future retinoid purchases and it made my list of top products to try. This serum contains a highly potent 6.5% retinoid blend, coenzyme CoQ10, Hawaiian White Honey, and lots of antioxidants to dramatically brighten the skin and improve tone and texture. Side note: I really like Sunday Riley skincare for its beautiful packaging and well thought out formulations, however, it’s too bad that the brand was involved in controversy (fake Sephora reviews and all) – this definitely soured the experience somewhat. 4/5

Ipsy Glam Bag Plus October 2020 Unboxing & Review - Filorga Oxygen-Glow [Eyes] Super Smoothing Radiance Eye Care

Filorga Oxygen-Glow [Eyes] Super Smoothing Radiance Eye Care

3 // Filorga Oxygen-Glow [Eyes] Super Smoothing Radiance Eye Care ($29) – I noticed a while back that I don’t enjoy oxygenated products as much as I used to. I first started using them because they felt so invigorating and refreshing, but now I only get the uncomfortable stinging sensation and redness as a result. Maybe my skin has changed, or maybe it has something to do with other skincare products in my routine, who knows? While I didn’t like the way this cream feels on my skin, I will say that it has a very nice pearly sheen to it, which would help visually brighten the undereye area by reflecting the light. 2.5/5

Ipsy Glam Bag Plus October 2020 Unboxing & Review - Ciaté London Extraordinary Translucent Powder

Ciaté London Extraordinary Translucent Powder

4 // Ciaté London Extraordinary Translucent Powder ($22) – I have combo skin and good setting powder is a must, especially during the warmer months. My two favorites are from Ilia and Laura Mercier, so it was interesting to see how this one stacks up against them. I like it so far! It’s finely milled just like the other two, perfectly translucent with no white cast, and also has a sweet tropical scent – coconut custard maybe? A keeper in my makeup collection for sure. 5/5

Ipsy Glam Bag Plus October 2020 Unboxing & Review - Huda Beauty Obsessions Palette in Mauve Ipsy Glam Bag Plus October 2020 Unboxing & Review - Huda Beauty Obsessions Palette in Mauve

Huda Beauty Obsessions Palette in Mauve

5 // Huda Beauty Obsessions Palette in Mauve ($27) – This warm-toned 9-pan palette is perfect for those who like mauve, pink & red colors in makeup. Unfortunately, those colors don’t look that great on me, so I’m thinking of swapping it for something else with another ipster. Sometimes I do soft shimmery pink looks, but I just can’t pull off matte reds and pinks. As far as I remember, Mauve palette didn’t get the best reviews online when it first came out, but they may have improved the formula since. 3/5

THE VERDICT:

I’m kinda loving this month’s products, not gonna lie! Laruce brush set and Ciate setting powder were absolutely phenomenal, and the overall value of this bag is amazing. I’ve never tried an Ipsy Plus bag before but I can see now why it’s such a popular option among Ipsy subscribers. Getting five full-sized products for $25 is so worth it, and they don’t all have to be surprises – Ipsy now gives everyone a few days to pick some of the items in your bag that you’re guaranteed to love. I’m glad they’re doing that because back in the day sometimes I’d get a bag where I didn’t like anything which was always such a bummer.

The value of my Ipsy October 2020 Glam Bag Plus: $297
