IN THE BAG:

1 // Jazmine Beauty Brow Boss – Brow Styling Wax ($10) – If I spend any extended time outside in the summer, my face turns into a sweaty mess, that’s just how it is. So forgive me if I’m a little skeptical that this brow wax can somehow keep my eyebrows set without melting off, but you never know! I didn’t have a chance to test it in hot and humid conditions yet, but in normal environment it works pretty well and my eyebrows stayed perfectly brushed all day. For now I give it 5/5.

2 // Chica Beauty Dual-Ended Brow Brush ($12) – Omg, when I shared my unboxing video on IG, my comments and DMs literally blew up with people asking about this brush. And yes, it’s as cute in person as it looks in photos! The fluffy end is used for brow powder and the tipped brush is for creating thin hair-like strokes. The handle feels extremely light and not super high quality, but the functionality makes up for it. A solid 4/5.

3 // Innisfree Green Tea Enzyme Vitamin C Brightening Serum ($7.47) – I actually wanted to try this serum and was looking to buy a full-sized bottle on sale somewhere, so I’m glad I got this mini in my June Glam Bag. Can’t really tell you much about long-term effects because the sample is just not big enough for that, but I’ve added it to my everyday routine and it feels really nice on the skin. I always worry about using AHAs [such as Vitamin C] while on tret but I had zero issues with this serum, perhaps because they use the new generation 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid which is gentler than LAA but gives nearly identical results. So far it’s a 5/5, for zero skin sensitivity despite being an active formula.

4 // Wander Beauty Mile High Club™ Length and Define Mascara ($10.11) – I didn’t even know Wander Beauty had mascaras other than Unlashed, which is great by the way. This one has a straight fluffy brush that works best if you need length and definition. Unfortunately, it gave me panda eyes, maybe because my lashes really need a curl and a lift, otherwise they rub against my bottom eyelid every time I blink. So perhaps it’s just not the right fit for me, but regardless, the formula shouldn’t be smudging this easily, so I’m giving it 2/5. The only saving grace is the nice brush.

5 // Billion Dollar Brows Liquid Eyeliner in Black ($22) – Say what you want about “yet another black eyeliner” but this formula is solid. The color is actually jet black, not three shades of gray in a trench coat, and it actually stays on the lids, even on oily skin. So if true black color and longevity is what you’re after, this is a solid choice. I’ve been using products from this brand for almost a decade now and they rarely disappoint. Giving it 5/5 because it’s just that good.

BOTTOM LINE:

June was an amazing month to be an Ipsy subscriber and I loved almost everything in my Glam Bag! The bag itself is cute and functional, the material definitely makes it an easy to choice for the beach. I’m already planning to get the full-sized bottle of Innisfree Green Tea Enzyme Vitamin C Brightening Serum, it works really well for my skin and I would love to see the longer-term benefits. Jazmine Beauty Brow Boss – Brow Styling Wax still needs to be summer-tested but so far it works well to hold my eyebrows in place. Billion Dollar Brows Liquid Eyeliner in Black will go to my mom, she loves a good winged liner. I’m actually planning to use Chica Beauty Dual-Ended Brow Brush for my nails as a cleanup tool – the fluffy side to brush off the keratin dust, and the pointed side for cleaning off the pooled nail polish.
