Ipsy Glam Bag February 2022 Unboxing & Review
I mean, I think we pretty much all expected our February bags to be Valentine-s day themed, right? First things first, the bag itself is great. It’s made with one of the better quality materials we see from Ipsy and has a nicely structured shape while remaining bendable and expandable to accommodate whatever you put in it. The print is adorable and perfectly suits the mood of the month – and beyond! I don’t reuse most of my Ipsy cosmetic bags except select few, and this one will be one will be used for sure. The products themselves weren’t too valentiney, but there were definitely some gems here.
HOW IT WORKS:
Each month as an Ipsy subscriber you will receive a new Glam Bag with a mix of 5 deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products customized according to your beauty profile. Members can watch videos and play along with the stylists, all for only $12/month ($50+ value). Click here to check it out.
IN THE BAG:
1 // BENEFIT COSMETICS Roller Lash Mascara in Black ($27 – $9.51 value) – I remember when this mascara first came out and everyone thought it was so revolutionary! It really was at the time, because the shape of the wand was so different from anything else on the market. This mascara stood the test of time and became one of the brand’s bestsellers. It helps curl, lengthen, and add volume to lashes, and totally deserves a spot in your makeup bag. 5/5
2 // M·A·C PREP + PRIME FIX+ ($30 – $1.50 value) – The last makeup setting spray I got in my Ipsy bag was a total dud, but this one is so good! Although I still prefer Urban Decay All-Nighter, the difference between that one and MAC is not that big. All-Nighter makes my makeup pretty much bulletproof from like 7am and way past midnight, while MAC held up til around 9pm-ish. Since we don’t go out much anymore I’d call that a win. 4/5
3 // GOLDFADEN MD Radical Difference Advanced Antioxidant Serum ($80 – $26.60 value) – The brand is known for their potent nature-meets-science formulations that are highly effective. I’m really enjoying this serum so far, and even though the tube is small, it will go a long way because the product is so concentrated. It has honey-like consistency that gives the skin a beautiful glow and adds a boost of antioxidants to help combat the effects of stress and free radicals. 5/5
4 // CONTEXT SKIN Matte Lipstick in Hide Your Heart ($20) – I’ve only ever used this brand’s makeup brushes and hair tools, which were all excellent by the way, and I didn’t even realize they have makeup as well. This lipstick was a lovely surprise, creamy and vibrant. It felt like a balm on the lips and was very comfortable to wear. Also, it smells like cake frosting! 5/5
5 // GO-TO SKINCARE The Removalist ($36 – $11 value) – While the concept of “skin detox” is a load of bs, using a clay mask to deep clean the pores can make the skin look brighter and help unclog a few pores, especially if you have acne-prone skin. This mask is not groundbreaking by any means but it was pleasant to use and delivered on its promise to remove excess oil. 4/5
BOTTOM LINE:
We got some really good products this month, and I was especially happy to try the Goldfaden MD serum because I’ve been curious about it for a while. I don’t think I’ll be purchasing the full-size anytime soon, so I’ll just enjoy it for as long as the sample lasts. I do plan to buy a tube of Benefit Roller Lash Mascara though, because this sample reminded me how much I liked it in the past.
What do you think, did this bag deliver the Valentine’s Day vibes? If you could keep one of these products in full size for free, which one would it be?
