Influenster Review: NYC New York Color IndividualEyes Custom Compact in Dark Shadows

Here’s a more detailed review and swatches of NYC New York Color IndividualEyes Custom Compact in Dark Shadows. In case somebody doesn’t know yet, I received this quad in my Influenster “Beauty Blogger” VoxBox.

First of all, like I previously mentioned I very rarely use this combination of colors. I think they look great on me but I’m more into natural/boho makeup styles rather than sultry/vampy. Trying this palette definitely put me outside my comfort zone!

The formula. These eye shadows are pretty well pigmented so a little goes a long way. They apply well and don’t flake off.

The scent. They smell kind of like e.l.f eye shadows, but to me personally they appear to smell of gouache paint. That sure brings back childhood memories!

The colors. They colors are well-balanced and there is even a little tutorial on the back to give you an idea on how to use them to create a look.

The primer. Wasn’t impressed with the primer, I felt like it did nothing. The eye shadows ended up creasing badly after about 2 hours.

The highlighter. It was alright, I think it did a decent job highlighting the inner corners of my eyes and under the brows. I will definitely use it again.

The brush. It’s a very basic double-ended slightly pointed sponge brush. I think I prefer the fuzzy brushes more. I only used it for the crease area.

And here is the end result! Additional products used: Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner in Black, Guerlain Mascara Noir G.
