I like having long hair, but taking care of it can be such a nightmare! I confess, I called it quits and chopped it short several times, and always regretted it later. After all, long hair is very ‘me’ and I feel the most comfortable when it cascades below my shoulders.
As a beauty blogger, I am very lucky to be able to try different hair care brands, but it’s rare for me to actually finish a bottle of shampoo or conditioner. However, when a product fits my hair to a tee, I make an effort to keep using it until it’s empty. That was the case with my recent Walmart purchase: Dove Nourishing Rituals Shampoo & Conditioner. I also bought a bottle of Dove Compressed Micro Mist Hairspray Flexible Hold, because I prefer to use styling products that allow my hair to move naturally.
As we head into summer, I try to make sure the haircare I’m using doesn’t cause buildup at the roots. I have fine hair, and it’s too easy to make it look greasy and flat with the wrong products. That’s why I am really loving Dove Nourishing Rituals Shampoo & Conditioner – they quench my locks with moisture and make it look shiny, but I don’t get that heavy feeling. It’s a lovely duo for summer! I simply let the hair air dry all the way, then use a straightening brush tool to even out the strands, and fix the style with a little bit of Dove Compressed Micro Mist Hairspray Flexible Hold. The best part about this hairspray is how lightweight it is – it definitely helps my hair keep the shape all day, and doesn’t turn it into a sticky mess.
Yet another reason to appreciate drugstore beauty brands – you can find great products at unbeatable prices, that will work just as well as their fancypants counterparts from the department store.
