Graze Box Unboxing and Review: May 2013 Nibblebox #1

I recently decided to unpause my Graze subscription, because I wanted to stock up on individually packaged healthy snacks. And to celebrate our reunion, I brought the whole box with me to the beach today! As many of you might know already, I’m not much of a tanner and I go to the beach to swim, play and enjoy the fresh breeze, all while being covered in a thick layer of SPF 50+. Ok, so here are the contents of this week’s Graze box!

About Graze:
Graze is a snack food subscription providing over 90 different snack options for you to choose from. For $5.00/box weekly, bi-weekly or monthly they will deliver a box with 4 snacks depending on your food preferences and each one of them is supposed to provide at least one health benefit. Currently Graze subscription is in beta-testing mode and they’re invite-only, so your only option is to use someone’s invite code (mine ran out, unfortunately) or to sign up for the wait list.

Olive & Rosemary Bruschetta

“mini tomato breadsticks, rosemary and garlic cashews and kalamata olive croutons”

I’m a huge fan of tomato breadsticks, so when I peeked into this week’s snack selection this was the first one that grabbed my attention. I didn’t like the way cashews were seasoned so I just picked them out and ate everything else.

Eton mess

“almond slices, blackcurrants, mini meringues and cranberries”

This looked super fun on the site, but I must have expected too much from the taste based on the ingredients. The meringues tasted like solid sugar, but I loved everything else! I would have enjoyed the meringues more if they were flavored with amaretto or lemon, or maybe even peach. Here’s hoping Graze reads my review and takes a note 😉

Summer Berry Flapjack

“rustic rolled oat flapjack with berry-infused cranberries”

Oh wow, I looove this dessert! Seriously, it’s amazing. It’s very sweet, which is something I would normally hate, but it just works perfectly here with all those oats and berries. It’s delightfully soft, and reminds me of my grandma’s oatmeal raisin cookies.

El Picante

“jumbo salted corn, hot chili peanuts and mini paprika breadsticks”

This slightly spicy mix was alright, but my husband enjoyed it way more than I did because I don’t like peanuts. I ended up picking them all out and piling them on his half of the snack.

Are you a Graze subscriber? Have you tried any of these snacks?

The verdict: I was once again reminded why I like Graze. They always seem to send a complete range of flavors – sweet, salty, spicy and savory – and the treats are always high quality and made out of fresh ingredients. I plan to stick around for another couple of weeks at the very least 🙂

Disclosure: I bought this.
