Throughout my life I went through several statement jewelry phases: at first I was way into big fun necklaces that would show off decolletage area; then, after conquering my nail biting habit, I switched to bold statement rings to accentuate my new manis that I could never do before; and finally, now I’m all about big and bright earrings. Statement earrings instantly draw attention to themselves, and have this weird quality to make the neck appear longer and also help my face look smaller.

I just love how this design screams Spring and Summer! The yellow flower in the middle reminds me of the earliest little flowers that start blooming around mid-April in my area; and the melon-toned teardrop dangle brings the whole thing into Summer. It’s a fun little accessory that looks nice but not too dressy – I could see myself wearing it with a sundress, or a bikini, tunic, and flip flops.
Melon is an obvious choice for Spring and Summer, but how cool would it be if this design was also sold in teal, mint, or lilac shades. By the way, I decided to complement the earrings with makeup, and found the perfect lippie to go along with them – Clio Tinted Lip Balm in “#22 Electric”. There are two little coral “leaves” going out to the side from the yellow flower in the middle, and that color is a near-perfect match for my lipstick!
