Raise your hand if your guy is hard to shop for [*raises hand*]! Whenever I ask him what he would like to receive for Christmas, he always tells me that he doesn’t need anything or to get something for myself instead. Gifts for men is actually one of the things I search the most on the Internet around this time of the year, and I always end up finding a few gems.
Even though guys can be hard to please, winter holidays are the perfect time to show appreciation for everything they’ve done for us this year, and there’s no better time to pamper them with thoughtful and surprising gifts. This year I wanted to share my very own list, I hope you enjoy!
I’ll start with the obvious – a nice cologne is definitely on top of my list when I’m shopping for a guy I know well. Right now I am head over heels in love with Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb, and even steal it from my hubs from time to time to use it myself. It smells absolutely incredible! Sweet, spicy, and very flirty – it’s seriously one of the sexiest fragrances for men.
I’ve revisited some of my Erno Laszlo favorites lately, and reintroduced hubs to their black soap, which is great for oily and combination skin. The brand’s Sensitive Cleansing Bar is another great alternative that will work for all skin types and won’t irritate sensitive skin. I think it’s even more important for guys to use gentle products, because most shave their face every day, so they could definitely use skincare with soothing ingredients, like Sensitive Cleansing Oil. Both are available as a set in a convenient travel-friendly plastic box that you can reuse later to store the soap.
Another thing I noticed is that guys actually do care about dark circles and puffiness around their eyes, but most would never invest in an eye cream. Erno Laszlo Antioxidant Complex for Eyes offers a great solution to both of those problems, and it looks very high tech, too! The bottle may look small, but a little goes a very long way.
It’s hard to make guys use moisturizer, frankly they don’t really want to use anything on top of their aftershave, but it was easy to convince my hubs that he needs a nighttime cream. Perricone MD Multi-Action Overnight Treatment has a concentrated, multi-action formula that targets all visible signs of aging, hydrates, and nourishes the skin. The results are good enough to make him start using a daytime cream, too 😉
I normally wouldn’t put something super-cliche, like a razor, on this list, but Gillette Fusion ProGlide Styler 3-in-1 Men’s Body Groomer With Beard Trimmer is literally the easiest thing in the world to use, and the results look so professional. It’s perfect for maintaining a well-groomed beard, sideburns, back & chest fuzz, and anywhere else that could use a little lawn mowing. I actually stole it a couple times from him for some *ahem* trimming, and now I have one of my own. None of the women’s trimmers can do the magic this little thing does, trust me.
Every guy needs a dopp kit for traveling, or just to throw in his gym bag, and I might have just found the one. Tooletries Koby Bag fits all of my husband’s grooming essentials, and the rubberized material it’s made with is water-resistant, which is perfect for keeping on the bathroom counter [he leaves it there all the time]. I actually bought a new dopp hit for him a couple months ago for his business trip, but this one is so much better!
I don’t want to say what I plan to get for my hubby this year, because it’s a secret! He sometimes reads this blog and I just don’t want to spoil the surprise if he glances at this page for some reason 😉 And don’t forget to follow me on Snapchat – glamorable – that’s where I will be sharing my Holiday hauls and latest purchases.
