Get Your Beauty Sleep In with Revitarest Skin Care Pillow

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Raise your hand if you didn’t know that sleeping on your side is bad for skin. No one? I guess we all knew that or heard about it somewhere, unfortunately bad sleeping habits is one of those things that is extremely hard to combat, because we do it unconsciously. As you know, I take my skin care very seriously, so I was stoked to find out that there are now beauty pillows that help keep your head in the right position all night long, ensuring that we get full benefits from our beauty sleep, and Revitarest Butterfly Pillow is probably the most unique of them all.

Most beauty pillows I’ve seen so far are designed to hold your head in one position to make sure you sleep on your back all night long. Revitarest Butterfly Pillow offers flexibility, meaning that you can sleep on your sides, too, without damaging your skin. The unique butterfly shape of the pillow creates cavities for your cheeks while the base is supporting your neck, ensuring comfortable posture and spine alignment, so you wake up well-rested and with no sheet creases all over your face [been there done that, haha].

Revitarest offers two pillowcase choices – Butterfly Plushie made with midnight blue dimple plush fabric, perfect for traveling and napping on a couch; and Young Face Pillow Case which you put on your current bed pillow of the appropriate size.

Revitarest Butterfly Pillow is made with specially engineered fabric called COOLMAX that was designed to be soft, breathable and moisture wicking; while on the inside the pillow is filled with hypoallergenic and loft-resilient Everlon.

I decided to make my pillow slightly elevated to ensure proper fluid circulation. This is a great feature for those of us prone to getting swollen face and eyes in the mornings, because it doesn’t let the liquid stay on our face. This trick really does work! In the long run if the skin doesn’t constantly stretch from swelling and tugging, it will be less saggy, which in turn makes you look years younger. That’s a true beauty pillow right there! 🙂

I’m not going to lie, it did take me a few days to get used to the feeling of a different kind of support that Butterfly Pillow provides, because it’s a whole different sensation. It’s firmer and a bit higher than the regular pillow I used before, but I’ve been using it for a few weeks now, and I seriously don’t ever want to go back. It changed the way I look and feel in the mornings, and even provided much-needed relief when I have migraines.

THE VERDICT
Revitarest Butterfly Pillow is a fantastic product and a wonderful staple to have if you want to get full beauty benefits of your sleep. The pillow worked well to eliminate morning skin creases, as well as morning eye and face puffiness, both of which I thought were impossible for me to get rid of. Long story short, I am very impressed and will most likely buy some of these as gifts for Christmas this year.

These beauty pillows are usually so expensive….will have to try this out! I just can’t seem to fall asleep on my back, so I like the option for side sleeping with this one….

I totally know what you mean, I’ve been looking at one at Sleep Number and it’s just ridiculous how much they wanted for it.

I had no idea for a while too, and then I read about it in a magazine a few years ago. They also say your pillowcase should be made of satin or silk because it’s better for the skin. So many beauty tricks!

    It is true 🙁
I tend to sleep with my silk case to avoid folds but it is hard to not sleep on my side. I LOVE this pillow and sounds like it is one to try!

Silk case sounds wonderful! I’ve been using satin cases for a while, because I never felt like splurging for the silk cover, but maybe I should. This pillow is really comfier than it looks, and those side cavities are so convenient 🙂

I had no idea that sleeping on my side was a bad habit. Now I’m going to be thinking about it.

The skin is actually pretty seriously damaged during the night if you sleep on your sides or on your belly with the face down [I know some people that do]. It’s getting stretched out a lot, which contributes to skin sagging and early wrinkles.

My mom has this pillow! Except she bought the silk cover for it as well and she loves it. It’s a lot more convenient when she needs to wash it (:
I’d buy it as well, but I’m just like my dad and the only way I can sleep is on my back.

You and your dad sure know how to treat your skin well at night, haha 🙂 I wish I could sleep on my back without any special pillows, but I’m one of those people that just love rolling around. It’s so nice that your Mom has this pillow, too, I bet she loves it!

Eeeekkkkkk I so am guilty. Side sleeper and raise my hand. But I do sleep on a silk pillowcase to help not get creases. But this sounds phenomenl. Great review!

I’ve never tried one, I always sleep on my side. I try to sleep on my back but it is so hard.

  8. June 4, 2014 / 5:40 pm

I think I need this… I prop pillows around into virtually the same position anyway lol

This is a pretty neat product.

This looks like a great one. I’m so naughty when i sleep, it has to be side or tummy! I should really give this a try.

  11. June 4, 2014 / 10:03 pm

I go back and forth between sleeping on my back and sides so this would work well for me!

  12. June 5, 2014 / 12:08 am

I definitely need to try this! I’m a side sleeper and don’t want wrinkles!

  13. June 5, 2014 / 7:14 am

I am always trying new pillows – It’s so hard to find a good one that is comfortable! I’m using a cooling pillow now, with a satin cover, which I like. Maybe this butterfly style will be the next one I try.

I seen this in a magazine I believe but I know I won’t be able to make use of it probably… I am really crazy when it comes to pillows… they have to be able to be punched and squished so I can get in the perfect position. lol
