Some of you might be wondering why there was no Mani Monday this week. Truth be told, I actually broke most of my nails this past Saturday from doing a ton of housework, cooking, shopping and heavy lifting of big luggage bags. I know this is as silly of a reason as it gets to be upset about, but it’s a tragedy for any nail polish lover – less canvas to paint on 🙁
I wanted to go ahead and still do a Mani Monday, but in the end I felt pretty discouraged. Here are a few pictures of what my nails look like right now. It will take me a few weeks to get them back to a state where I actually enjoy photographing them for all to see, so for now, unfortunately, this is all I have.
Girl, preach…this IS a big deal. I cried once when all of my nails were perfectly shaped, perfect length, all amazing and one ripped in half…grrrrr! lol
Ahh you poor thing, I would have felt sooo sorry for you and given you a big e-hug! I nearly cried about this one too, but there were people around so that’s probably the only reason I didn’t. I would be the laughing stock in the family if they saw 🙂
That’s do sad, your nail were so nice. 🙁 how do it keep your nails so strong at that length? Mine usually break before they get that long and I have to start over. (Maybe do a post on nail care in the future?)
Thanks for the request! I’ll document the process of growing out my nails back to their length and blog about the products I used to do that 🙂 Maybe it will help someone grow out their nails too.
For my nails/hair/skin I actually take a Biotin supplements daily. I also let them breathe without nail polish for at least one full day every week, so the hand creams and oils and cuticle treatments soak up better. You also want to file them just a teeny bit every day to make sure the edges are smooth, otherwise they might split or tug on things like your hair or fibers in your clothes. These steps are all I can think of right now, but I might add more in my nail care post 🙂
I had the same problem this week. I got a new nail polish in my May Ipsy bag and I was going to post what it looked like on my nails and by the next morning I managed to break 3 nails while sanding a project for my blog…ugh so frustrating and even though I fixed the polish I still could not bring myself to post a picture. I love this color though!

Oh my, so sorry to hear about your nails 🙁
By the way, loved your latest blog post about the bird’s nest in your grill 🙂
