When I think about drugstore makeup, I’ll admit that Neutrogena is not the first brand that comes to mind. This company, mostly known for affordable high quality skincare, introduced a full line of makeup products, and now even stars like Nashville’s star Hayden Panetierre sing praises to these physician-approved formulas. After watching Hayden’s #AllDayLook videos, I thought I’d try playing with some of her Neutrogena faves, too!
Normally, my makeup is very light during the day, unless it’s a special occasion, so the products I chose are pretty neutral and will look good on anyone. I stopped by my local Target to pick up Nourishing Long Wear Liquid Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 20 in Classic Ivory, Nourishing Eyeliner in Cosmic Black, Healthy Volume Mascara in Carbon Black, MoistureSmooth Color Stick in Fresh Papaya, and Shine Control Powder in Invisible.
Step 1: Apply Foundation + Concealer
I try to apply my foundation and concealer as lightly as possible, allowing the skin to breathe, and building up the coverage only where needed. Looks like the shade was a good match for my complexion, too!
Step 2: Line + Define
Lining the eyes makes them look bigger and wider, and the lashes longer and fuller. Neutrogena Nourishing Eyeliner has a smudgie sponge on one end, so I can even create a pretty smoky eye with it. Here I drew a simple cat eye and very lightly smudged out the line to make it look effortless but not messy.
Step 3: Lashes!
I love my heated curler and use it every day, I seriously can’t imagine my life without it! After curling, I applied 3 coats of mascara, wiggling the wand left and right to make sure every lash is thoroughly coated.
Step 4: Cheeks + Lips
Going matchy-matchy for lips and cheeks is not a bad idea. Those subtle shimmers in MoistureSmooth Color Stick in Fresh Papaya make my cheeks look dewy and highlighted. Don’t you just love this beautiful neutral color? It’s a great shade for Spring and Summer.
Step 5: Set It
Since I have combination skin, the finishing step in my everyday makeup routine always involves some sort of setting powder. I lightly dust it over the areas of my face that tend to be oilier than others to ensure that my makeup stays fresh longer before I need touchups. This is an All Day Look after all 😉
Here’s how Hayden uses some of the products you just saw in the pictures above. I love that effortless look!
Oh, and before I forget, Target will also be offering Beauty Concierge service where a specially trained employee will help customers choose the perfect beauty products. Event begins August 24th, Limited quantities available. Check with your local Target store for Beauty Concierge day and times.
I love this simple look, you look great! Some days I do apply full makeup, other days just my face and lips. Today I’ve got a full face, with a very soft eye look, but I am going to an event in NYC tonight and plan on adding some glitter lips 🙂
You picked great products, I love the Neutrogena line!
You look so fresh and pretty. 🙂
I have read so many good things about that lippie, I need to pick one up and give it a try.
Love your look! I especially like how you did your liner.
Such a pretty look! I still can´t believe that Neutrogena does makeup products 😀
You look great. I love the color stick color.
I think it’s harder to apply a fresh, minimal makeup look than it is to apply a full-face makeup – but you make it look effortless. I love that Papapa lippie/blush.
I like the no-makeup makeup look you created. Great choices.
I definitely don’t apply a full face of makeup every day. Too lazy. Ha! You look gorgeous. This really is the perfect “no makeup” makeup look.
You look fab!!!
Oooh that lippie. That is such a perfect color on you.
Fresh Papaya is my favorite shade, LOVE Neutrogena!
Gorgeous every day look for the office or hanging out!
With or without makeup, you look fabulous every single time
I think I could apply any foundation with the beauty blender sponge and it would be perfection!
This look is so pretty on you.
fabulous look girly!
you look so gorgeous, as always! You actually remind me of a ballerina when I see your hair in that bun. Were you a dancer?
Hi Kimmi, you are always so nice to me! Thank you for all the nice words 🙂 Yes, I actually used to do ballet a long time ago, and been wearing that “ballerina” bun to get hair out of my face ever since 🙂 Because of that training I also have crazy arched feet that my hubs always makes fun of (in a good way). Good times!
You always look so gorgeous ! I will have to try the lip balm as a blush next time around.
Beautiful look!
