Skincare empties & reviews

It may be a little early for my monthly empties post, but I know I won’t be finishing anything else in January, so why not? This month there are only four products, one of which is a personal Hall of Famer that I can’t stop raving about on Instagram.

P.S.: Actually, I know I finished more than just these four, but for the life of me I can’t find the bag where I put everything. I think I may have thrown it away when we were cleaning the place after the holidays.

SKINCARE:

1 // Primera Miracle Seed Essence* ($58) – This was one of my biggest skincare discoveries of 2019, if not the biggest. I knew this essence was a huge hit in the Asian Beauty community, and now I finally know why! The ingredient list looks amazing: lotus seed extract is #1 on the list, immediately followed by Niacinamide. Other noteworthy ingredients include Adenosine, which helps brighten the skin, two potent humectants – glycerin and sodium hyaluronate, as well as saccharomyces ferment, which helps soften and smooth the skin surface. There’s no drying alcohol, dyes, or fragrances – just the good stuff and the necessary stabilizers to keep the essence from breaking down. Love. This. Stuff. So. Much.

Repurchase? Yes!! My god, it’s freaking amazing.

BATH & BODY:

2 // Soap & Glory Magnificoco Clean-A-Colada Body Wash* ($10) – It took me a while to finish this body wash because the bottle is pretty big. I think it was sitting on my shelf for at least 3-4 months, if not longer. Granted, I’ve been playing with other body washes from time to time, but this was the main one. What I like best about it is the tropical scent, it helps shake me up when I’m still feeling sleepy in the morning. The formula is also gentler than your typical body wash, it feels more moisturizing and leaves the skin feeling lightly hydrated afterward. Plus, it’s only $10 for a giant bottle at Ulta, so I think it’s worth a try, especially if you spot it on sale.

Repurchase? Maybe. I still have a lot of others to finish first, but I like this one and the price is right.

3 // Curél Ultra Healing Intensive Lotion for Extra Dry Skin ($7.99) – Fantastic lotion for dry skin that I sometimes even use on my face when getting ready in a rush. It’s soothing, sufficiently moisturizing, and doesn’t feel greasy. It makes my skin feel comfortable and soft and keeps it hydrated for hours, long after the effects of many other body lotions would have faded. It’s a true drugstore gem and I can’t recommend it enough.

Repurchase? Yes.

4 // SpaRitual Infinitely Loving Soak Tonic* ($30) – This soak is supposed to soften your skin, nails, and cuticles to prep them for manicure or pedicure, and you could also use it as bath milk. If you do your own nails at home, this would be pretty helpful for your kit. I definitely felt like it helps loosen up those dead cells.

Repurchase? No, as it’s no longer available.
