Empties Vol. 31

Empties Vol. 31 – Stuff I finished in February, March & April

It’s been a while since my last empties feature. I just don’t seem to be able to finish things lately, so I was shocked that I had enough products for a proper post this time. In this edition it will be mostly everyday essentials, a few mascaras that were due for a toss ages ago, and a couple skincare pretties that I used up til the very last drop.

Empties Vol. 31

SKINCARE:

1 // Dr. Hauschka Melissa Day Cream* ($35) – One word: amazing! This is one of my all-time favorite moisturizers for combination skin, because it keeps my skin hydrated and soft without weighing it down, even though it contains natural butters and oils. The formula is clean, non-toxic, and 100% natural.

Repurchase? Maybe. I have so many products to test though! Decisions, decisions…

2 // Botanic Farm Salmon Egg Hydrogel Eye Patches* ($30) – Considering how much individual eye masks cost these days, these are a steal. These gels work wonders to reduce morning swelling or to help my eyes look more awake after sleepless nights. I really liked these, and they lasted a very long time.

Repurchase? Possibly.

3 // The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% ($9.80) – Deciem has been a train wreck lately with all of those creepy TMI social media outbursts. I used to feel good about supporting the brand, but I no longer feel comfortable buying their products. I will finish what I have in my stash and probably won’t mention them again on this blog.

Repurchase? No.

4 // Elemis Peptide4 Night Recovery Cream-Oil* ($59) – This creamy lotion is one of my favorite products from Elemis, and I already have 2 backups because I don’t want to run out anytime soon. I love this lightweight formula – it’s nourishing and very comforting, and the fragrance reminds me of something from my childhood. I wake up with very soft skin when I use it at night.

Repurchase? Already have.

5 // Anokha Mango Butter Eye Treatment* ($60) – I discovered this fantastic eye cream thanks to NAVAGO marketplace, and it helped keep my undereye area protected during our dry and cold winter this year. The formula reminds me of Kiehl’s Avocado Eye Cream, but this one felt as nourishing while being less heavy.

Repurchase? I might get a new jar for F/W.

6 // Perricone MD H2 Elemental Energy Hydrating Booster Serum* ($110) – This hydrating serum is the bomb! It’s one of the few products that my skin can tolerate when it’s irritated and tight. The formula is unscented, too, which is a nice bonus.

Repurchase? I still have a lot of products to test, so probably not. I do love it though!

7 // PIXI Rose Caviar Essence* ($24) – Remember my recent review of this essence? It took me from then to now to finally finish it. The essence is pretty concentrated, so I only needed to use a tiny amount for my whole face. It was soothing and hydrating, and smelled so good! I really enjoy using it. 🙂

Repurchase? No.

8 // Clarisonic Radiance Brush Head* ($27) – I rarely use sonic cleansing devices, but I tend to reach for my Clarisonic Mia 2 about once or twice a week. My Radiance brush head was due for a toss, and I replaced it with Cashmere Cleanse, which is a lot more gentle in comparison.

Repurchase? No. I think I’ll stick with Sensitive or Cashmere.

Empties Vol. 31

MAKEUP:

9 // Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara ($23) – A cult classic for a reason. I think this is overall one of the best mascaras on the market, and it does it all: volumizes, lengthens, curls… I love the hourglass shape of that wand, and the way it shapes and curls my lashes.

Repurchase? Yes, if I run out of my backup mascaras. I don’t really need it right now though.

10 // Benefit Roller Lash Mascara ($24) – I remember loving this mascara when it first came out, but I found wands and formulas that work a lot better for my lashes. I think it will work well for someone looking to lift the base of their lashes.

Repurchase? No.

11 // Wander Beauty Unlashed Volume & Curl Mascara* ($24) – This mascara made my lashes look naturally pretty, while giving them definition and curl. It was nice, but not the best I’ve ever used or anything like that. The wand was very good though, I actually saved it.

Repurchase? No.

12 // Beautyblender Classic ($20) – I washed and re-washed this beautyblender so many times, it has lost the unique texture that makes the original stand out from a sea of knock offs. It’s more of a splurge, but it’s the best foundation sponge, IMO.

Repurchase? Already have.

Empties Vol. 31

BATH & BODY:

13 // OGX Orchid Oil Shampoo & Conditioner* ($8.29 each) – What a great duo! I normally use department store hair care, but I was gifted these two and decided to give them a try because why not. I was pleasantly surprised how lovely they made my hair look, feel, and smell. Highly recommend giving them a try!

Repurchase? If I need some hair products in a pinch, I will.

14 // Elemental Herbology Neroli & Rose Damask Body Wash* ($27) – This is one of the most indulgent body washes I’ve ever tried, and it feels like pure luxury to use. The lather is rich and creamy, and the fragrance is very relaxing. The formula is super gentle so it doesn’t dry out my skin like some other body washes. It’s definitely a treat!

Repurchase? Maybe.

15 // LUSH Sympathy for the Skin ($29.95) – I am obsessed with this body lotion, it’s so creamy and dreamy! I recently finished this jar, and already thinking of buying more because it makes my skin feel like silk and smell like banana cream pie.

Repurchase? Yes!

16 // HUM Daily Cleanse ($25) – I lost count how many times I repurchased this supplement, but it’s one of the few I use religiously because I’m convinced that it helps keep my skin clean and free of breakouts. I will advise to do some research before adding any new supplements to your routine though.

Repurchase? Yes!

17 // Secret Clinical Strength Invisible Solid Antiperspirant ($9.79) – Nothing glamorous here, just a drugstore antiperspirant, but I thought I’d include it anyway. My body no longer responds well to natural deodorants, so I switched back to antiperspirants and this one works wonders.

Repurchase? Already have.
