Empties #22

Not like it really matters, but last time I goofed and titled the post Empties #23, when it was actually #22, so let’s just use the latestĀ pile to compensate for that mistake, haha šŸ™‚ There are some real standouts here, even looking at the pictures makes me sad that those products are now gone, but you’ll have to read on to find out what they are!

SKINCARE:

1 // Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water & Waterproof Makeup Remover is probably the best drugstore micellar water I’ve tried so far. It’s super gentle, melts off even waterproof makeup very effectively, and doesn’t irritate the delicate eye area. And best of all, a bottle of this awesome makeup remover is under $10, so it won’t break the bank!

Repurchase? I was sent a very generous supply by Garnier, but I will repurchase with my own money once I runĀ out. I recommend you give it a try if you haven’t yet!

2 // LJH Tea Tree 90 Essence is one of my skincare staples, I would even call it a HG. This watery essence is a godsend for redness, enlarged pores, and post-peel skin irritations. It’s easily one of the best Kbeauty products I’ve discovered within the last few years! I have repurchased it at least six times, and even though this bottle is now empty, I have two more backupsĀ in the drawer.

Repurchase? I already did, and most definitely will do so again. FYI these are available atĀ Glow Recipe [use this link to get 15% off your first order].

3 // Skinfactory 7 Seconds Morning Sheet – I received my first jar of these sheets in a Memebox years ago, but at the time there was nowhere I could purchase them from. In a nutshell, these are one-a-day exfoliating sheets that also moisturize and nourish the skin. You keep the jar in the fridge, then use one sheet in the morning to significantly cut the time spent on your AM skincare routine. They really do work well! I don’t know if they’re worth the retail price, but I like buying them on sale.

Repurchase? Yes, if on sale.

4 // Malin + Goetz Detox Face Mask – You know those oxygenated bubbling masks and cleansers that are all the rage lately? This is one of those. While I absolutely adore the delicate sweet almond fragrance, I feel like this mask didn’t really do anything for my skin.

Repurchase? No.

HAIR:

1 // Teadora Rainforest atĀ Dusk Shampoo & Conditioner – This is my #1 favorite shampoo & conditioner duo of all time. Together they completely transform my fine, limp hair into salon quality locks, even if I just let it air dry. I know you guys think all shampoos & conditioners are pretty much the same, and I also kinda felt this way until I tried these two. What a difference! Seriously, this is a must try.

Repurchase? I really want to, but I can’t afford to spend that much on haircare šŸ™ I go through it too quickly, so the price per use can’t be justified.

2 // RUSK Texture Dry Finishing SprayĀ – I rarely use styling products because most of them weigh my hair down. This one was ok, but I wouldn’t say it’s extraordinary or anything.

Repurchase? Nah. It was just OK.

BODY:

1 // Neutrogena Fresh Cooling Sunscreen SPF45 – Neutrogena has solid sunscreens, but this one wasn’t my favorite. It actually made my skin feel very greasy, and that’s not something I tolerate in my sunblocks. Before you guys say anything, I am well aware that spray sunscreens are generally considered to be less effective because most of us don’t apply a thick enough layer. I actually buy them out of sheer convenience when I have to bring one to the beach or something. One can typically lasts me 3-4 full body applications, so i definitely don’t under apply šŸ˜‰

Repurchase? No, it’s too greasy for my combination skin.

2 // Suave Advanced Therapy Body Lotion – This is a very basic body lotion that I used a couple times after the shower. I kinda like it, actually, but it wouldn’t be my first choice at the drugstore.

Repurchase? No, but it’s a decent basic body lotion that can work for any skin type.

3 // Alvera Aloe & Almond All-Natural Roll On Deodorant – This is something between a deodorant and antiperspirant, and it’s been my staple for the past 3 years. There is an ingredient called Alcloxa, which is basically an aluminum compound, but not the same aluminum that’s widely used in antiperspirants. The main reason I like it is the mild milky formula that actually hydrates my underarms and doesn’t cause them to itch and break out like most deodorants and antiperspirants. The fragrance is heavenly, too, if you are into sweet almonds.

Repurchase? Absolutely! I have an entire box of these sitting in the pantry.

LIFESTYLE:

1 // Vitafusion Gorgeous Hair, Skin and Nails Gummy Vitamins – I looove vitamin gummies! They are so fun and I never forget to take them because they taste great. I try to always have multivitamin complex for hair, skin, and nails on hand, and this was the latest one I finished. I currently use capsules from NOW Foods, which I also like a lot. It took a while to notice results, but I could swear that I’m seeing the difference when I take them.

Repurchase? Maybe. They are normally higher priced than regular vitamins, but I will buy them if I spot them on sale.

Well, that’s it, guys! After looking at the latest two piles of empties I realized that I hit pan on some of my favorite products, but I don’t think I reviewed some of them on the blog. Sometimes I get too wrapped up in life projects that I forget to dedicate time to tell you about my daily staples, like my deodorant and shampoo.

What was the last product you hit pan on? Have you tried anything from my empties list? Let me know in the comments below!

I agree on the Garner MW. I like it almost as much as Biderma. I think it removes eye makeup better, but I wish they had a dry skin version like Bioderma Hydrabio. Your other empties are new to me. Such a good way to learn about products worth trying.

As we “grow” through skincare, I find myself using more Western/mainstream brands than K-beauty alone. I saw you had just the one K-beauty empty – are you seeing this trend as well? I now use only OST, Snail products (Mizon, CosRx), and the odd sleeping pack; everything else seems to be non-Kbeauty.

I’m trying to track empties for the first time. Mostly though I’ve got throwaways as I’m getting ready to move. Impressive list.
