Empties #21

April Empties

Before we begin there’s a little change announcement. Instead of sorting my empties posts by month I think I’ll start numbering them from now on. I found that sometimes I don’t have any finished products to share at all, and other times the post for one month would go live during the next month and so on. In an effort to make this series look more organized, the numerical system is probably my best bet, and it will give me more versatility on when to share my empties without tying them to any specific time frame. After counting them, looks like today is my Empties #21 post!

SKINCARE:

Skincare is always the main category in these posts, because I use a lot of products, and I use them often 😉

1 // The Body Shop Olive Shower Gel [$20, available here] is one of my favorite bath products from the brand. It has a neutral fragrance and the moisturizing formula doesn’t dry out my skin. It’s not as hydrating as shower oils and milky body washes, though.

Repurchase? Yes, but only on sale, which TBS runs quite often.

2 // The Body Shop Almond Body Butter [$21, available here] is my go-to for winter, along with a couple other TBS body products. I thought I’d finish this jar by the end of February, but it lasted longer than I expected.

Repurchase? Yes, but only on sale, which TBS runs quite often.

3 // Whamisa Organic Flowers Cleansing Oil [$38, available here] worked really well as a pre-cleanse step in my beauty routine. After trying this oil and a couple other Whamisa goodies, I must say I’m a fan! It’s definitely one of the companies you want to put on your radar if you’re interested in trying some quality k-beauty products.

Repurchase? Maybe.

4 // DR. MJ Bee Tox Control Cream [$72, available here] is one of the best Korean moisturizers I discovered through Memebox, hands down. I loved how soft and smooth my skin felt after using it, and it also kept the breakouts at bay, thanks to bee venom. I recently found another great moisturizer, which I will write about later when I’m not in the middle of testing other things, but this one is definitely up there with the cream of the crop.

Repurchase? Yes! I will be stalking sales like a hawk. Unfortunately, this brand doesn’t seem to go on sale very often.

5 // banila co. Clean It Zero [$16, available here] – I never bought the full-sized jar of this popular cleansing balm, because I had like 10 little travel-sized samples to use up first, but let me tell you – it’s popular for a reason. This balm melts into the skin, dissolving all traces of makeup and sunscreen, but you definitely have to follow up with a foaming cleanser or micellar water to remove the residue thoroughly.

Repurchase? I’m seriously considering it.

6 // Skin Inc. Lines Be-Gone! Custom-Blended Serum [$90, available here] has the gentlest formula ever, but it’s also super effective. All of the active ingredients are encapsulated, so they don’t clash with each other in the bottle, and only activate once they’re on the skin. I seriously loved everything I tried from the brand.

Repurchase? Too expensive for me personally, but if someone offered to buy me something at Sephora under $100, I’d pick this serum.

HAIR:

I rarely use up hair products, because my style is super low maintenance, but I somehow managed to finish this one product. Go me!

1 // Wella Pearl Styler Styling Gel [$18, available here] was one of the products I used to get super sleek braid that I wrapped around my sock bun. I would always get compliments from people on that super easy updo, but I can’t do it anymore after chopping off my hair to shoulder length. I also used to keep baby hairs from fluffing up, and it worked splendidly.

Repurchase? No, because I have no need for it right now, but I highly recommend it!

MAKEUP:

I pretty much never manage to finish makeup, and it makes sense that my entries here are basically just mascaras.

1 // Neutrogena Healthy Volume Mascara [$7.99, available here] was my first introduction to the brand’s cosmetic line, and I was not left disappointed. It’s actually one of my favorite drugstore mascaras, but my other faves from Milani and L’Oreal cost less and go on sale more often, so I probably won’t repurchase this one anytime soon.

Repurchase? Maybe, but unlikely.
