Dermelect Cosmeceuticals Makeover Ridge Filler Review

I recently purchased a bottle of Dermelect Makeover Ridge Filler from Bloom.com during their final sale event. I wanted to try out this product for a long time but could never justify paying a full price for it, especially after reading very mixed reviews.

When a product is rated 2 stars on one website and 4.5 on the other, wasting money on it would be the last thing I want. However, at 70% off I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to find out once and for all.

My nails have had ridges for as long as I can remember so I always had to buff them and apply at least three layers of base coat to achieve an even and glossy look. I have tried a couple ridge filling products in the past but they never dried well and my polish ended up bubbling, so I decided it’s probably not worth it.

I’m a pro-peptide person and I always enjoy products that contain them since they always seem to work well for me personally. I had no idea you could also stuff them into the nail polish formula so I was extra curious about this one.

I must have expected too much of this ridge filler, because I wasn’t wowed by the results. It didn’t do a very good job evening out my nails, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I actually like the shade so I might use it instead of the regular polish sometimes. It is a very soft very sheer pink hue with very fine blue shimmer, and that color combination made my nails look whiter and healthier.

The verdict: I guess I’m glad I gave it a try, despite my mild disappointment. I will use it as a nail polish from time to time, and as a base coat when my current one runs out. However if you only have small ridges and not the grand canyons like I do, this product might actually work for you 🙂
