Quick K-Beauty Reviews: Dear, Klairs Sheet Masks & BB Cream

I’ve recently posted a number of quick skincare reviews on my IG and thought it would be good to share them here as well, since this blog is a more permanent space. Some of the reviews reflect my updated experience as well, revisiting products that I first tried years ago, to see how they compare with my new favorites. Today I’m featuring three products from Dear, Klairs, a brand that I was first introduced to more than 10 years ago.

Dear, Klairs Illuminating Supple Blemish Cream SPF40 ($25) is re-discovery – I reviewed it on this blog 11 years ago, way back in 2013! It was a very positive review, but I used up the original bottle and never repurchased another. Now it’s time to give it a try again and see if my opinion changed at all. Spoiler alert: it didn’t! The formula is just as beautiful as I remember and feels more like skincare than makeup. It has a natural light to medium coverage, dewy skin-like finish, and decently high SPF protection to give your sunscreen a little boost. Because it wears more like a moisturizer, it might be too much for people with very oily skin, but I have no issues with it on my combination skin. I’m guessing it will work well for normal and dry skin types too.

The only real negative is the shade range – which doesn’t exist, as it comes in one single shade. It’s a kind of muddy grayish light beige that can surprisingly look good on different undertones, including olive, which is notoriously hard to find a decent match for, since most western brands lean either pink or yellow. But yeah, not inclusive at all, which is a bummer because the formula is so good.

Dear, Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Tencel Sheet Mask ($3) – I hate the word ‘moist’ as much as the next girl, but these masks are fantastic for that quick boost of hydration. High quality tencel gauze material soaked in nourishing and moisturizing essence was designed to help maintain healthy skin barrier. The mask gives parched skin instant relief and provides a mild cooling effect.

Dear, Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Sheet Mask ($3) – This line is perfect for sensitive skin with redness, including redness from breakouts and heat exposure. It’s moisturizing and cooling, thanks to CICA and Guaiazulene, but also helps calm the skin faster than a redness-reducing moisturizer. I keep these in the fridge for quick relief and they work wonders.

Both of these masks come in two pieces to ensure the best possible fit and prevent the sheet from sliding off your face. Use the bottom half first and secure it with the top half – everything will stay in place nice and tight!
