Cult Nails Swanbourne Swatches and Review

Purchased by Me

I’ve been looking for a unique deep brown shade for a long time, and I think I found The One. Some of you know that Bondi decided to stop their subscription service, and I was actually really looking forward to getting a particular dark brown polish from the Fall/Winter collection, so I took my refunded money to Cult Nails. I spotted Swanbourne on clearance for $7 and decided to grab it [along with two more fabulous colors], because it looked like a very pretty brown – exactly what I was looking for.

Swanbourne is a Limited Edition shade that came out as part of  the Let’s Get Nekkid Collection in 2012. It’s best described as a deep brown creme with fine golden glitter flashes. Here’s the official shade description:

“The darkest of the “nekkids”, Swanbourne is a deep, alluring brown crème laced with flashes of golden shimmer which bring this color to life.”

I’m sure you’re all seeing what I’m seeing – a stunning dark, very deep and rich brown shade with subtle bronzy glitter. The formula is fantastic – it has the same feel and finish as Deborah Lippmann and Butter London polishes, but the price is actually 30% or so lower. The brush is thin and firm, and is somewhat shorter than many regular nail polish brushes [about 1/3 shorter than Sephora X], which allows for more precise application. I painted my nails in a hurry so there are several smudges that stand out, but no one will see them unless they’re very close.

All Cult Nails polishes are free from formaldehyde, camphor, toluene and DBP.
