Bees are truly wonderful creatures! Not only do they pollinate flowers, crops, and trees, they also bring us some of the best treats nature has to offer: honey, propolis, royal jelly, bee pollen… Of course they all make wonderful treatments in their raw form, but Beessential creatively turns them into gentle and effective face and body products. Click here to read more about Beessential [formerly Beecology], they have quite a story to tell!
I had the opportunity to try a variety of products: lip balms, body wash, body lotion, and even foaming hand soap. I also remember buying their solid soaps, shampoo, and conditioner a couple years ago, and I liked those quite a bit. I’d like to note that all of Beessential skin, body, and hair care products feature natural good-for-you formulas that are gentle enough to use even on sensitive skin, as long as you don’t have allergies, of course 🙂
Grapefruit & Lemongrass Body Wash and Foaming Hand Soap stand out from the crowd, because they are SLS-free. The body wash looks almost like liquid honey, and feels very luxurious on the skin. Naturally, it doesn’t foam as well as body washes with sulfates, but that doesn’t make it any worse at giving me that feeling of being clean and refreshed. I like the liquid soap, too, because after using it my hands don’t immediately feel dry and tight.
Both the body wash and the hand soap have one strong lemongrass note that completely overpowers the grapefruit. I’m totally okay with it, because I adore lemongrass and there aren’t enough companies that make lemongrass-scented products, especially in this price range.
Energizing Cucumber & Green Tea Cream is sitting in my bathroom right by that foaming hand soap, and I made it a habit to use a small squirt each time I wash my hands. It has a non-offensive fragrance of freshly cut cucumbers that is suitable for both men and women. Moisture for everyone! [they have an unscented version, too]
And finally, how cute is this Lip Balm Gift Tin? Each tin features Beessential logo and can hold five all-natural lip balms. Mine came with one Orange Ginger Beeswax Lip Balm, one Lemon & Lavender Beeswax Lip Balm [the winner of Total Beauty award!], one Pure Honey Balm, and two Peppermint Buzz Balms. So far I only opened the Orange Ginger lip balm, and it’s been sitting by my sink so I am always reminded to reapply it throughout the day.
For the record, Orange Ginger Beeswax Lip Balm has a harder stick than most of my other lip products, and the consistency somewhat reminds me of eos balms, if you know what I mean. It deposits a nice waxy layer on the lips that stays on through eating and drinking, making the lips look kissably shiny but not greasy. I really like that it’s all-natural, too, because I’m a terrible lip licker, so all those balms, lipsticks, and glosses eventually end up in my stomach. Beessential lip balms are petroleum-free and made only with the finest ingredients, like beeswax, shea butter, honey, natural fruit extracts and oils, so I don’t feel as bad about ingesting them.
Do you need this? Natural beauty fanatics probably already use and love these products. The price point is great, and non-toxic formulas are safe to use for the whole family. I especially recommend trying the lip balms, if the rest are anything like Orange Ginger that I’m using right now, then they are truly remarkable!
