Number 4 Hydrating Shampoo & Conditioner – I’m slowly building a small collection of Number 4 samples for my travel beauty case, and I was missing a shampoo, so now I have it. Yay! The conditioner sample is one of those one-use packets, and I’ll definitely get around to using it some day.
Harry’s Truman Razor & $15 Gift Code – My husband uses an electric razor so I decided to keep this one for myself. The design is simple and sleek, and the handle provides comfortable grip, which is important when shaving in the shower. I would know, since I recently stepped on a razor and shaved off a dime-sized chunk of my foot! Birchbox also included a gift code for a free razor blade refill, how nice of them!
Alfred Lane Bravado Solid Cologne – Ooh, I like this one! Now to make my hubs actually use it 🙂 It’s not like he doesn’t use cologne, but rather he just forgets to do so. I think carrying this little tin in his pocket would remind him that he has it, and maybe prompt to apply it from time to time. It’s a very pleasant fragrance, featuring woodsy notes and hints of tobacco and leather.
COOLA Environmental Repair Plus Radical Recovery After-Sun Lotion – Love love love COOLA! Together with Supergoop, La Roche-Posay, Shiseido and Josie Maran, it’s one of my favorite brands of sunscreen. I never bought their after-sun products because I don’t tan, but I’m still excited about this sample, because I can use it after taking pictures outside.
Clinique for Men Broad Spectrum SPF 21 Moisturizer – Hubs will probably be happy to try something new. This sample already looks all rough and masculine, in its dark gray tube and minimalistic design, practically oozing manliness. It does have a sunscreen-ey smell to it, but the formula is very runny and lightweight so it shouldn’t bother him much.
THE VERDICT
Is it weird that I’m more excited about the samples in a Men’s box that I got by mistake than my regular Birchbox? Every product here is nice and useful, and I hope hubs will reach for that cologne more than once because I really like the fragrance.
