Remember me raving about Nubian Heritage solid soaps? Well, today I wanted to show you their body washes and body lotions. I received two bottles to try – one of Goat’s Milk & Chai Body Wash and Coconut & Papaya Body Lotion. Just to remind you, Nubian Heritage is a sister brand to SheaMoisture, which I absolutely adore; their products for curly hair work so well for my crazy frizz! But I digress…
Both Goat’s Milk & Chai Body Wash and Coconut & Papaya Body Lotion come in similar-looking tall bottles with a squeeze cap. I’m okay with it for body washes, but it doesn’t work that well for body lotion which has a much thicker consistency. I would much rather prefer it being packaged in a squeeze tube, or a bottle with a pump to make it easier to use.
Goat’s Milk & Chai Body Wash is quite a gem! It cleans the skin exceptionally well and produces lots of creamy lather that looks more like a foam with tiny bubbles than the kind of lather you’d see from a regular body wash. Goat’s milk is naturally pretty smelly, so Nubian Heritage used rose extract and chai spice to add a touch of delicate fragrance to this moisturizing formula. The result – soft and clean skin, that isn’t dry or tight. The effect is comparable to LUSH Ro’s Argan body conditioner at a fraction of the price. Seriously, though, it’s that good, I can’t recommend it enough.
So far Vitacost offers the best deal on these body washes and thousands of other natural products; I actually buy my Alvera deodorants there all the time. Tip: Don’t forget to check out the free sample area if you decide to order something, it’s kind of hidden and most people don’t even know it’s there. Nubian Heritage recommends Goat’s Milk & Chai line for people with all skin types, especially sensitive skin.
Contrary to my expectations Coconut & Papaya Body Lotion doesn’t really smell much like a coconut; the fragrance actually reminds me of some really sweet candy. And no wonder that it does! The formula is loaded with “beauty sweets”, like cocoa butter, vanilla bean extract, coconut milk, and papaya. Together they work to brighten and firm the skin, while offering long-lasting moisture, which my body desperately needs around this time of the year. Nubian Heritage recommends Coconut & Papaya line for people with dry, dull, and aging skin.
Do you need this? If you think all body washes are the same – try Goat’s Milk & Chai Body Wash, it’s seriously amazing, and you’ll instantly notice the difference after the very first use. Now, the body lotion formula is great, but I am just not a fan of the packaging, because eventually it will become hard to get any product out. Nubian Heritage sells hand creams in squeeze tubes, and I think it would be great if they could repackage their body lotions in those tubes, so they’re more convenient to use.
