1 // Briogeo Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-in Spray [$20, available here] is something I would have used before I chopped off my hair. These days, I barely ever use leave-in conditioners, serums, and anything that could weigh down my locks to keep my hairstyle looking airy and voluminous. It seems to be a nice product though, judging from what other reviewers are saying, and I don’t doubt that. I’ve tried a couple other things from Briogeo before and they were both fantastic.
2 // Appeal Cosmetics Luxurious Lipstick [$29, available here] in Crush, a hot bright coral shade that will be the envy of every mermaid. The shade is super pretty pretty in person and the photos here don’t do it justice. This color reminds me of Starlooks Tipsy lip pencil, which used to be my go to coral a few years back when I still subscribed to their beauty box. I think those two will work well together!
3 // Mystic Tan Mocha-Kyssed Bronzer Lotion [$35, available here] is a token self-tanner that is as classic in beach-themed beauty bundles as sunscreen and sea salt spray, neither of which are present in Beauty Box 5 May 2016 box, which is surprising actually. I think there is enough for one application here, and I will give it a try eventually. A couple months ago I probably would’ve given it away, but right now I’m experimenting with self-tanners so I’m actually pretty excited.
4 // Glamour Dolls Mermaid Lashes Splash Proof Mascara [$4.99, available here] looks like something my makeup bag could definitely use. I plan to visit the pool quite often this summer, and while I don’t like wearing a full face of makeup there, a little waterproof mascara, and some lip & cheek tint is all it takes to look fresh and fabulous even underwater.
5 // Elizabeth Mott You’re So Fine Liquid Liner [$15, available here] in Glitterati is probably the only product I will end up giving away. While glitter is definitely on-trend right now, I just can’t seem to get on board with it. I’m boring, I know 🙂
BOTTOM LINE:
Beauty Box 5 boxes are always well-curated, and products actually match the theme, and that’s more than I can say about most beauty boxes out there. Not only did May box contain three full-sized products, the total retail value of the products we received is around $60, which is a lot for an inexpensive beauty box like BB5. My favorite sample this month is actually a tie between the lipstick and the mascara. Both of them will be perfect for summer, which I hope is coming sooner than later, because I’m itching to dive in the pool already!
