Usually rain is a bit of a nuisance, but I like April showers, because they are a sign that Winter is finally behind us. To celebrate the coming of Spring, Beauty Box April 2015 box contained a collection of products to make every girl bloom!
HOW IT WORKS: For $12/month subscribers will receive a box filled with a carefully selected mixture of five travel-sized, deluxe-sized and full-sized cosmetic products from luxury, commonly known brands, niche brands, eco-conscious and even vegan brands. Aimed at introducing women to new cosmetic products and educating them on best practices, Beauty Box 5 scours the market to find the best products for your lifestyle. Click here to subscribe.
Lasting Smiles Passionfruit Mango Organic Lip Balm – I’m a self-proclaimed lip balm hoarder, and practically collect them. I have one-two stashed away in every purse and makeup bag and use them all religiously, although my lips still look awful. I can’t even imagine what they would look like if I didn’t use anything. Lasting Smiles lip balms are not only made with organic and fair trade ingredients, every purchase supports cleft lip and palate surgeries for children in developing countries. In fact, Beauty Box 5 subscribers collectively provided at least 20 kids with life-transforming surgeries, doesn’t that make you feel happy for contributing to the cause?
Dancin’ Goat Hula Bliss Body Lotion – Normally I’m not a fan of body lotions packaged in bottles like this because they’re a pain to get out: I prefer squeeze tubes, pumps, or jars. However, this one turned out to be very milky and runny, but that lightweight texture is very deceptive, because the formula packs a serious punch of heavy duty nourishment. I use this lotion before bed, because it has a soothing lavender fragrance that helps me fall asleep better. I like it better than I thought I would, actually, this lotion is worth taking a second look at.
Style Essentials TwinGloss – Look at this blast from the past! I think I had a similar lip gloss when I was first allowed to use makeup in middle school 🙂 Aww, the memories! It even has the same nostalgic coconut fragrance and lots of glitter flakes. The formula is sticky and ultra-glossy, and has a pretty good wear time. If you love high shine effect and iridescent glitter, you will like this one!
Incoco Nail Polish Appliques – There were assorted colors sent out, and I got this romantic floral design that reminds me of garden parties and Kentucky Derby. I love Incoco nail appliques, and reviewed them on the blog several times; they’re made of real nail polish and last on my nails for at least 10 days!
First Aid Beauty Facial Cleanser – I only recently started getting into FAB products after trying their moisturizer in another subscription box, but I like everything I used so far. As much as I hate getting foil samples in my boxes, at least Beauty Box 5 included three of them, so I could actually try the product several times to form an opinion. This cleanser has a perfectly balanced pH – a rare commodity among cleansers these days, apparently – and it works well for sensitive skin.
THE VERDICT: There were several winners in this month’s box! I particularly liked the Dancin’ Goat lotion with its soothing lavender fragrance, Incoco nail apliques that are ideal for Spring, and of course Lasting Smiles lip balm, because I like companies that give back.
