Amazon Prime Surprise Sweets February 2017 Box Review (discontinued)

Amazon Prime Surprise Sweets February 2017 Box Review

I’ve got some bad news for fellow sweet tooth ladies out there. Unfortunately, Amazon decided to discontinue their mega popular Prime Surprise Sweets box, so this will be my last review of the service, unless they decide to reopen. I really enjoyed this box. The ability to order one on demand and have it at my doorstep within two days is really impressive. Now I am looking for something else to fill the void, so far I am probably going to subscribe to Snakku and see how it goes.

HOW IT WORKS:

UPDATE: The box has been discontinued.

CONTENTS:

1 // Country Fresh Fudge Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge – I’m not the biggest fan of peanut butter, so I shared this yummy looking fudge with my family, and sounds like it was a hit. The fudge was delectably sweet and didn’t have that nutty bitterness that you can sometimes taste in peanut butter. This fudge was made with some good stuff!

2 // Bissinger’s Strawberry Mango Gummy Pandas – As some of you may know, my MIL is currently battling cancer, and there’s this awfully bitter medicine that she has to take several times a day. She swears by these gummies! They help the medicine go down without the spoonful of sugar 🙂 These delicious treats are made with natural ingredients and don’t contain any of the yucky fillers found in mainstream cheap gummies.

3 // UNNA Vanilla Dream Cookie – I love shortbread cookies, especially the traditional Scottish ones. I could eat those every day of the week and not get bored, it’s a great neutral flavor that pairs well with many types of drinks – from milk to tea. This cookie was sweet and crumbly, with the perfect amount of sugar and butter. I wish I had some milk to enjoy it with, but I was out at the time and ended up gobbling up the whole box with a cup of tea. Yum!

4 // Maddy & Maize Birthday Cake Popcorn – In theory, Birthday cake flavored popcorn sounds like a good idea, but I actually didn’t care for it at all. Sounds like mine was an unpopular opinion, too, because the reviews are nothing but glowing. Seasoning aside, the corn itself was great. The kernels were popped to puffy perfection, and I didn’t find any unpopped seeds in the bag.

BOTTOM LINE:

Well, for my very last Prime Surprise Sweets box, this one was a tad disappointing. There was nothing wrong with the quality of the items, I just didn’t care for the flavors. The gummy bears were my favorite treat in the box. In fact, I loved them so much that ordered 12 more bags on Amazon to share with my MIL. I also really enjoyed the shortbread, it made a welcome addition to my afternoon tea.

I’m a little sad that this box is no longer available, but I am glad I had the opportunity to discover small batch artisan treats and support small businesses.
