Sometimes it takes a beauty blogger to create a truly fabulous product, and Shannon from A Girl’s Gotta Spa blog did just that with her new line of body treats. The “moment of truth” came to Shannon in the shower, where she firmly decided that this is what she wants to do – provide women with a daily escape from everyday stress, with help of clean, honest, and simple products, free of nasty chemicals, colors and fragrances.
I decided to try Energizing Citrus Body Lotion, since lotions are kinda my thing lately. Its 94% natural formula has the most pleasant texture, I would say it’s something between a thick body balm and a runny lotion. I also found it very emollient, because it spreads like butter, and absorbs really well. I can’t say it doesn’t leave a trace, because it does, but the layer is not sticky at all; instead, it makes the skin soft to touch, and adds a little sheen, which reflects the light in the most flattering way and gives it an overall smoother appearance.
Ingredients – CosDNA: Purified Water, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Vegetable-based Emulsifying Wax (Cetearyl Alcohol, Polysorbate 60), Citrus Paradisii (Pink Grapefruit) Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Sorbic Acid, Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Oil, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Oil, Citrus Sinensis (Orange) Oil.
I know many of us often buy body lotions based on their fragrance alone, and I have to say that Energizing Citrus Body Lotion has an amazing one! There is something fun and uplifting about that sweet and bright citrus scent, so I made a habit of using it in the morning to help me greet every day with a smile.
Proudly made in USA, vegan, and cruelty-free [Leaping Bunny certified] A Girl’s Gotta Spa! products are manufactured in small batches to ensure the highest quality and the best ingredients. No hype, no miracle promises, no celebrity endorsements, just the good stuff; think homemade dinner vs icky high school cafeteria food.
Do you need this? I don’t know about you, but I definitely need another one! 🙂 I believe, anyone with dry, normal, or combination skin will really enjoy this body lotion, especially if they also like fresh citrusy scents. I think it might be just a tad too heavy for oily skin, but very few people have truly oily skin on their body, so this lotion is pretty universal. Like Shannon says, you deserve to be pampered!
WHERE TO BUY: $22 USD for 8 fl. oz. Available at A Girl’s Gotta SPA!, CrueltyFreeConsumer, Amazon.
