Juniper Box Unboxing and Review: July 2013

Can you believe it’s already the end of July? The pool is calling my name, but ironically it’s too hot outside to go swimming so I prefer sitting at home in the comfort of an AC and doing my daily things. I feel super lazy and clumsy when it’s hot and make a million mistakes. I guess it’s not just me, because my July Juniper box didn’t contain the info card and the contents of the girly goodies box didn’t match the invoice. Oh well, I would tell Lynn about it, if I wasn’t feeling so lazy! I’m sure she would have sent me the replacements immediately if I contacted her right away, but I had some products saved up from before, so this mishap didn’t inconvenience me at all in the end.

[Extra] Calolea Glycerine Olive Oil Soap and J&M Key Lime Cookies
I love when Juniper includes random extras from previous months, especially if those extras happen to be things I raved about in my reviews. This month Lynn threw in the Key Lime cookies and the Calolea soap, YAY! I pretty much instantly devoured the cookies, and put the soap in my bathroom. I already use one in the shower, and now I have another one for hands. It’s really super gentle and makes my skin feel very fresh and clean but not overdried.

Rip van Wafels Caramel Filled Amsterdam Waffle
Yum! I love my tea and I love my waffles, especially if they’re filled with sweet caramel. I think they definitely taste better when warmed up over a cup of steaming hot tea or coffee to the point when caramel melts into the waffle. These high quality sweets are made with all-natural ingredients and don’t contain any preservatives, trans-fat or high fructose corn syrup.

Dang Toasted Coconut Chips
I actually used to buy coconut flakes just for eating as a snack, don’t remember why I stopped. These larger-sized coconut chips taste sooooooo goooood! The company originated in Thailand, one of my favorite vacation destinations, so no wonder I immediately fell in love with this unusual snack. I love everything and anything Thai, and cook Thai food on a weekly basis. Both my husband and I enjoyed this snack and even ordered more from Amazon 🙂

Torn Ranch Chocolate Chip Cookies
These cookies were a bit dry, which means they’re perfect for dipping. I liked them with milk the most because they’re very sweet, and the creaminess from milk really helped the flavors develop. Not something I would buy on a regular basis but it was fun to try.

Heliotrope Soy & Shea Butter Massage Candle Black Fig & Cardamom
I didn’t get a chance to try this one yet, but I’m no stranger to massage candles. They are very fun to use and provide nice clean burning. I think I’ll try this one for a foot massage first to make sure it doesn’t give me a reaction before putting it on my body, but the ingredient list looks promising – it’s just soy wax, soybean oil, coconut oil, shea butter, and a few essential oils.

Teatulia Lemongrass, White Tea and Green Tea & Fisher Honey Bee Honey Sticks
Tea and honey are my period staples, as you might have already noticed from my previous reviews. And Teatulia happens to be one of my favorite tea brands. I have tried the lemongrass and the green tea before, but never their white tea. It was crisp and light with slight peachy aftertaste, a delightful treat especially when you’re not feeling that great *ahem, cramps* The honey sticks are a welcome addition to my tea, and the vast variety of flavors makes each cup have a unique taste.

Girly Goodies
The pouch contains secondary protection (pads) and Midol packs, and the golden box has the tampons. I like how they package these every month in a super cute way, and I found so many uses for the extra pouches I accumulated. For example, I put some dried herbs and flowers in one and hung it in my walk-in closet. It smells divine and lavender drives away the moths.

The verdict: Another fun Juniper box with fantastic snacks to satisfy my monthly cravings. This is definitely the time of the month when I forget about my diets and healthy habits and straight up pig out on sweets. It’s hard being a woman, what can I say 🙂
